The root of Cory’s passion for the connected nature of tech enhancing the future of work began in the early 2000s in robotics research initiatives for the FedEx Institute of Technology. He went on to pioneer mobile helping enterprises develop strategies to mobilize staff workflows and collaboration in the pre-enterprise project management app era of “BYOD to work” in the mid-2010s. Seeing the promise of physical and digital integration, Cory brought physical products to life leading the Connected Technologies division at a hardware development firm. Beginning in 2018 Cory began researching and leading the Future of Work at Gigster as VP of Product and Research advocating for leveling outdated hierarchical structures within organizations. Cory is a futurist with the goal to continuously question the status quo. His research answers the questions that will define how the innovations of today will impact the work of tomorrow.

The bond development team engaged with departments city-wide by analyzing bond project submittal data that initially totaled 187 projects with a cost of $3,202,078,281. Our team analyzed the listed projects and cross-referenced the current needs with third party entities. We also developed a theme of capital renewal for the bond which helped determine the scope and direction of each project. The initial staff recommendation tallied up to $640,000,000 with another $100,000,000 designated for city council allocation. Here, I was able to observe how the staff reconciled very large accounts in order to maintain a working budget and effectively plan a project.
                                     	              
Also during my internship, I assisted in community engagement projects during which City Council members and the deputy CFO presented to citizens and listened to the public’s concerns. The team provided staff liaison support for the Bond Election Advisory Task Force (BEATF) and their subcommittees. The BEATF was tasked with following up on staff recommendations identifying and prioritizing bond funding for projects that would address infrastructure needs, including but not limited to needs related to flood prevention, libraries, housing, mobility, transit, parks, fire stations and other planned, unfunded capital improvement needs. I helped coordinate, produce, and publish GIS maps used in the bond development process. As an active member of the team, I witnessed the construction of the 2018 bond development webpage using the Drupal platform. I also assisted with the development of other deliverables as assigned.
