One of the best parts of my role has always been the opportunity to visit so many incredible Fortune 500 companies across the tristate area.

Over the years, I’ve seen it all—the beautiful offices, the views, the thoughtfully designed spaces, the food, the coffee, the perks. There’s something undeniably fun about getting a behind-the-scenes look at companies that are building truly impressive environments. It’s one of my favorite parts of sales.

But the truth is, what really sets these companies apart has very little to do with amenities.

It’s the people.

The teams you meet, the leaders you learn from, the cultures they’ve intentionally built—those are the things that leave a lasting impression. When great talent is supported, valued, and empowered, it shows in every interaction.

So while I’m always impressed by the buildings and the benefits, what excites me most is partnering with organizations that put people first. Being able to provide great talent to some of the best companies—and knowing those individuals will thrive there—is what makes this work so meaningful.

Because at the end of the day, it’s not the office that makes a company great.

It’s the people inside it.

That trusted advisor role rarely happens right away. More often, it’s earned in real moments—when challenges surface and you demonstrate not just expertise, but care, accountability, and the ability to navigate things thoughtfully and effectively.

Belonging in a community and becoming a trusted advisor don’t happen overnight. In a world that pushes instant results, the most meaningful relationships are still shaped over time.

The better question for tech leaders isn’t: ❓ Why haven’t they landed yet?

It’s: ✅ Do they have the skills and experience to solve the problems my team is facing right now?

If the answer is yes — interview them.

Because the candidate you pass on today may be the one helping your competitor move faster tomorrow.

Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about what really makes people successful when they join a new company — or honestly, even when they’ve been with an organization for years.

Resourcefulness matters more than ever.
