It’s astonishing to me the reactions some people give to selling…..no one is coming in your home, licking all the food in your fridge and putting it back people 🙄 There’s really no need to get so defensive……which ironically paints you out to be a right twat who no one would want to buy from after that behaviour anyway 🤦🏼‍♀️

If you KNOW your work changes lives, it’s actually selfish not to sell.
You’re withholding the exact thing someone needs because you’re scared of how a stranger might perceive you? Or because you think you can’t sell AND build connection with people?
(Some of my BEST relationships on here have come from cold pitches FYI 😉) 

So yes, I’ll keep selling.
I’ll keep showing you what’s possible and how to do it in the right way……not like a creepy car salesman, where 80% of your sales is done by your content anyway, (the power of understanding brain behaviour and platform psychology)

If you aren’t making my bank balance bigger, my waist slimmer or my day brighter, there’s really fuck all reason to be in my inbox. 

Too many people pretend they aren’t here for themselves and to achieve an outcome, who are you kidding? 

Like we’d spend our time on our phones if we didn’t have to 🤦🏼‍♀️ 

There’s NO SHAME IN THE SALES GAME and maybe if more of you weren’t so pretentious about why you’re online in the first place, you’d make more money and ironically help more people in the process ✌🏼

7000 languages in the world and 99% of LinkedIn still decide they want to talk shit……
Rant incoming ❗️

Why?? 
Because marketers have become dangerously biased and your bank account is paying for it with booody awful marketing advice. 

This week a creator posted a reminder telling people not to share “calorie burn” or “earn your food” style content over the holidays, because “she” deemed it to be harmful. 

Fair enough, right? Shitty health advice is NOT OK. 
Totally valid. 

But from a marketing perspective, not so much.

👉🏼 It positioned an entire category of behaviour based content as dangerous, shaming and unacceptable, not because it universally is, but because she doesn’t like it.

Which creates the problem……Writing off a psychological trigger simply because you don’t align with it is not marketing. It’s projection.

And projection doesn’t build businesses.

Some people need that type of nudge.
Some respond to accountability.
Some only move when something hits a nerve and triggers them. 
Some need the reminder because their health genuinely suffers without it.

Yes, brands have a moral responsibility, but when a marketer frames their personal discomfort as marketing “ethics”, you start getting advice that teaches you to avoid entire strategies, messages, and psychological levers because they wouldn’t respond to them personally.

That’s not objectivity.
That’s bias.
And it’s one of the fastest ways to burn money on support that never helps you reach the people who actually need what you sell.

Too many creators forget:

🧩 You are not your audience.
🧩 Your triggers are not their triggers.
🧩 Your buying patterns are not their buying patterns.
🧩 Your moral discomfort is not their behavioural driver.

When a marketer builds your content strategy around their worldview, their preferences and their emotional reactions…

❌ You don’t get strategy.
❗️You get someone else’s internal world projected onto your business.

And then business owners wonder why the investment delivered fuck all results.

👉🏼 Because the person guiding you wasn’t analysing behaviour.
👉🏼 They were analysing themselves and what they thought would work, not a profile of the people you’re trying to sell too. 

Good marketing requires a psychological distance.
A detachment.
An ability to look at your audience independently from what we like, believe, or would act on.

If the person you invest in can’t do that?
If they collapse every strategy into “I don’t like that, so it must be harmful”? 
If they make decisions based on taste instead of data and behaviour?
(All without you realising) 

📉 You will keep making shitty investments with shitty returns.

Your content isn’t supposed to reflect your marketer’s identity or your own. 
It’s supposed to influence your buyer’s behaviour.

➡️ Bias leads to opinions.
💰 Objectivity leads to sales.
And your business can’t scale on somebody else’s emotional preferences, values or beliefs. 

End. Of. Story.

You don’t have to agree with everything Sharon Davies or Tracy Edward’s stand for (so let’s not be dicks first thing on a Monday), to understand something very clear:

👉🏼 They are fighting for something that matters to them.
They are fighting for fairness, safety and the long-term integrity of women’s sport, an area that has taken decades to build, protect and legitimise.

Why does that matter to you? ❗️
Because they have stepped into a conversation most people are too afraid to touch, because they know the backlash comes long before the understanding.

And this is where the parallel to marketing and business becomes unavoidable. Most brands crumble the moment their message is even slightly uncomfortable.

➡️ The reality in today’s world is, if you don’t define what you stand for with clarity, courage, and conviction, someone else will define it for you and you’ll be left sat with your finger up your arse and no money in your bank. 

In marketing, the brands that grow the quickest are the ones that understand……

1️⃣ You cannot be effective if you’re terrified of being misunderstood.
2️⃣ You cannot create real alignment if you’re trying to please every possible audience.
3️⃣ You cannot lead if you’re solely optimising for silence, safety or inoffensiveness.

That goes for even the most vanilla brands FYI. 

Whether you’re building a brand, a movement, or a message:

👉🏼 Being pro something is not divisive.
It is directional.
It gives your audience a place to land.
And it shows your values in action, not just in your branding.

This kind of work matters, profoundly.
For every conversation and for every business.

Some of you don’t like using selfies in your content (and hate on those who do) and having seen your profile photos…..on behalf of everyone….thank you 🙃
