I’ve removed Instagram, X and Facebook from my phone. My team now manages them.

I realised that the echo chamber I’m in is being manipulated, and it’s getting even more extreme.

I have this message for you.

Great years start with strong Januarys

This sentence stopped me in my tracks:

“Peace of mind is a terrible thing to waste.”

It was shared in the context of stepping back from noisy platforms and the constant pull of doom scrolling. 

That alone resonated. 

Removing Facebook and Instagram from my phone has genuinely created more mental space.

But the more I sat with it, the more I realised how much wider this applies.

Peace of mind shows up in business decisions long before things go wrong.

Cash buffers.
Conservative forecasts.
Not over-stretching for the sake of ego.
Making decisions you can stand behind at 2am, not just at 2pm.

It shows up in how you structure your days too.

Decisions that help you sleep well at night are massively underrated.

Sleep is feedback. 

If it is poor, something upstream usually needs attention.

Everyone’s line is different, but I am increasingly using this as a filter:

Does this decision buy me peace of mind, or spend it?

More often than not, the “boring” option is the right one.
