Initial years focused on starting the institutional middle market sales division as a JV between Private Client and Capital Markets Groups: For the first time, ML was able to segment coverage of the institutional markets through the Capital Markets, Private Client, and Middle Market sales forces, enabling complete coverage of all US institutions. Published FSI Marketing and Sales Guides based upon geographic and industry market segmentation, which were used by every Regional Sales Director and 200 person Middle Market salesforce; Developed a Marketing Information System (both mainframe and WAN) and provided sales leads, tracked coverage, market share, and revenue.  [MIS included every commercial bank, thrift, credit union, insurance company, endowment & foundation, union & government pension, and local government in the U.S., including their investment portfolios]. Partnered to develop a trademarked SaaS for bank Asset/Liability Mgt.  Architect and manager of the RIA business unit, an initiative to target money managers of HNWI and family offices, leveraging the brokerage arm with the trust company for global custody and block trade execution. Lead the multi-functional team of marketing, client support, operations, technology, and legal/compliance. Grew RIA assets to over $20 billion and $20mm revenue. Series 7, 63 & 65.

Section manager in the Market Strategy Division with a focus on the Bank's international expansion: Lead project teams (with up to 60 members) to determine for top management our expanded wholesale market presence throughout the world and the US, following the Bank's exit from the retail market. Principal assignments included Egypt, Turkey, South Korea, and Nigeria. Our target markets were correspondent banks, governments, and multi-national and large indigenous companies. Work included both secondary and primary research in these countries: customer and prospect interviews (often using translators), economic and political analyses (always involving US Embassies and/or Consulates), and competitive intelligence. Strategic recommendations to management included proposed launch strategy with market and revenue projections, and detailed cost and ROI analysis. I personally set up the representative offices in Egypt and Turkey and handled PR and promotions for the openings.

Served as the first person in the marketing department responsible for providing marketing and PR support to the SVP of Corporate Banking, along with the VPs heading the cash management, commercial finance, and factoring departments.

*  Managed retail promotional campaign for introduction of first network of ATMs in NJ.
*  Conducted extensive research on all aspects of EFT and cash management products to determine bank's product development priorities.
*  Worked on multi-functional holding company committee to build ACH DDP product.
*  Began first benchmark corporate banking research program (using Greenwich Research) to determine how to best increase market penetration and client share.
*  Worked with NYC and Boston advertising, PR, and sales training firms to a) implement relationship management sales training program, b) develop corporate banking product brochures, and c) conduct direct marketing campaigns to our target middle market and large market companies in NJ.
*  Product Manager for commercial checking accounts.
*  Frequent speaker at BMA and ABA marketing conferences as these associations launched their first focus on corporate marketing in the banking industry.

Craig Cadmus is a marketing intrapreneur, whose analytical acumen focuses on marketing research to uncover winning market segmentation niche strategies and new products for companies. Most of his corporate career has been in the B2B market within the financial services industry, spending ten years in commercial banking and 16 years in brokerage trading and custody. Whether dealing with start-up business units, new products, or the re-engineering of existing businesses, he has been an architect of business proposals to top mgt. to improve revenue and P&L. His assignments included the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, in addition to the U.S. With strong organizational, leadership, communicative, and business development skills, he often became the contractor charged with starting and building the businesses.

After 9/11, he left the industry to pursue a long-time desire to start his own small business. Spurring his interest were courses taken in restaurant management at Cornell while pursuing his MBA. He spent the last nine years running a successful café. The hands-on challenges of a start-up require one to quickly become expert in all functions of a business without the staff support of specialists available within a large corporation. The business model focused on hiring the right people to form a cohesive team, constant training, mentoring, multi-tasking, efficiency, and customer service. “It is an industry with a 7-day / 80 hour week where one obtains constant and instantaneous feedback from customers on the quality of your products and services—and the daily P&L reflects this.”

With both B2B and consumer retail experience, Craig is sales driven, client focused, technologically savvy, analytical, and detail & bottom-line oriented. He is open to advisory, consulting, or part-time positions to grow businesses’ top or bottom lines.
