THE ORIGIN:

In year 7 of our agency, we hit $1M ARR, hit Global Top 1000 in digital marketing, and I burned out…twice.

In 2022…

— I got on 21.8 hours in meetings per week
— Had some panic attacks and slept 2 hours per night
— Thought I was going to die on an airplane

In 2023, I was desperate for change so I…

— Sent one email that eliminated 75 hours/month in meetings
— Kept it simple (no outreach, ads, or hiring)
— Upsold existing clients and improved retention

THE RESULT:

In short, I accidentally discovered a better way.

→ 70 hour weeks turned into 8 hour weeks
→ 21 hours/week in meetings turned into 2 hours/week
→ $1M ARR turned into $2.5M ARR 12 months later

THE MINDSET SHIFT:

Hmmmm…..

Maybe doing more to earn more is bogus.

Maybe saying yes to everything (and every client) PREVENTS us from creating the life we want.

Maybe our business is calling the shots instead of us.

THE NEW PATH:

I fell into coaching in 2024 kicking and screaming.

Y’know why?

Senior Recruiter - Core Business Services (CBS)

NSPCC

NSPCC schools service plays a vital role in protecting a generation of children, by helping them understand abuse and giving them the confidence to speak out if they need help.

As one of the lead volunteers I have visited hundreds of primary schools in Yorkshire to deliver Speak out, Stay Safe assemblies and workshops as well as training/ signing off new volunteers.

Every childhood is worth fighting for.

I also run an Etsy shop selling supposedly funny greeting cards during lockdowns. I learnt a great deal about running a small business, how to use Canva to design cards, SEOs and how to drive sales using social media. It was great fun!

School Services Volunteer

I worked as one of the In-house Recruiters at EY in London. I managed Transaction Advisory Services recruitment with a focus on Valuation and Business Modelling. 

Valuation and Business Modelling quantifies valuation risk and reward to improve decision making processes. Services include, Valuation of businesses, Intellectual property & capital equipment, Business process management, Data Analytics, Decision Support and Economic Advisory.

As well as managing the end to end recruitment process I was also heavily involved with:

After travelling I started as a receptionist at a hairdressers after which I got my first proper office job. During my HR admin roles I really enjoyed recruitment which then lead me to seek a role in recruitment as well as embark on CIPD studies to further develop my HR/recruitment skills.

I worked as a shift supervisor and trainer at Starbucks in the City. As I was working part-time due to my studies I wasn’t allowed to be a store manager but I once acted up as a manager for four months in one of the stores when we waited for a manager to join. I also trained the new manager.

I was also assigned to train new head office staff who would be placed in coffee shops for two weeks. Had I stayed after my studies ended, I would have completed my manager training and I would have then moved to the head office and classroom training.

I worked as a Cashier and Customer Service Assistant in Prisma, Mikkeli. I worked full-time during school holidays and part-time during term time.
