Hi! I'm Matt Fried. I've been a customer service and sales leader for 25+ years.

With Ace Natural since 2015, I lead our organic food service ingredient sales division. I'm responsible for our top food service accounts, new client acquisition, & launching new brands into the market. Prior to my current business development role here, I was the Customer Service Manager.

Prior to Ace Natural I led Customer Service and Operations for Eli Fried Inc., a food service distribution company specializing in dried fruits, nuts, & gluten-free bakery supply.

My experience selling healthy food and working with clients runs deeper than my professional life; these values are the backbone of my personal life.

I've been writing daily about healthy living since 2013, with over 4000 posts to date. I coach people who are struggling with their nutrition & fitness inside an digital community and 1:1.

I am an avid chess & soccer player, father of 2 amazing teenagers, and husband to a woman who continues to make me better every day.

While I carry a pen, paper, and a physical book with me everywhere I go, I am also a power user of many different software & technical tools, using systems, AI, & automation daily.

When I moved countries, I lost my voice for a while.

Not literally (even though with how hard it was to learn a new language, it could've.)

But I lost my voice because I had to relearn how to walk into a room and connect with people right away. 
I didn't know any jokes, sayings, or even some specific words in certain topics!

Inside of my brain, I had the same knowledge. 
I had the same personality. 
And even the same stories.

But something about the new context meant I had to learn how to communicate myself all over again.

(and now I like my English version more than my Spanish one LOL)

Obviously, it took time. But like everything, I eventually made it happen.

I think about that experience a lot when I work with my clients.
Because what they're going through isn't so different. 

They're brilliant in person and working with clients.
They know their work deeply and how to connect with others with the things that only they have experienced.

But then they sit down to write a LinkedIn post and something gets lost.
The version of them that shows up in their content is not real. 
They are following templates from other people.

Like they learned a language perfectly, but they also lost their accent, one of the things that made them unique.

And that gap between who they are in a room and how they show up in their content is exactly what costed them clients. 

It's not about expertise or price anymore.

Making content easy & quick for business owners

There are so many things that can be encompassed this sentence:
"It's not what you say, it's how you say it."

But one of the most important ones is when you talk about yourself and what you do. 

I find that people have an easier time doing it in person; you know you have everyone's full attention, and you can read their body language. 

But online, it's a struggle for most. 
The pressure of having a perfect message, 
not coming across the wrong way, 
or even not to lose a chance. 
It can be tricky. 

That's why getting clear on your message is a key part of your online positioning.

In my last newsletter, I spoke about something that resonated a lot.

Something that at the moment felt like nothing,
but then I realized how powerful it was.

Not just for her, but for me.

Last week, I took off and went on a cruise with a friend of mine.
One of our stops was Cozumel, MX.
(and yes, it was as cool as it sounds)

When we got there, I HAD to get to a cenote.
Because if there's something about me, it's that I am an adrenaline junkie.

So we obviously went, we booked a tour, got it all set
When we got to this beautiful blue cenote in the middle of the jungle, we all wanted to jump into it.
But there was one woman in front of me.

She stared at the whole and started counting down from 3.
But then she needed to try again and started counting down from 5.
Eventually, she looked at me and said, "You can go."

Without thinking twice, I got there, and everyone watching started counting down from 3 as well.
I jumped.
Before I knew, I was already in the water!

Right after me, the same girl jumped and came to me right away.
She said, "Thank you, I did it because of you."

(WHAT?! What did I do to her?) I was thinking.

Then I realized, I simply showed her that it was ok.
That she could also do it.

This story reminded me of all the people who are holding themselves back from sharing about themselves on social media.

By posting the same templated things that everyone else does,
You won't arrive at the right people.

But by sharing the stories that make you unique,
the stories that made you jump,
You will arrive at the other people who also need you to jump!

I constantly tell my clients to do one thing I haven't done in a while. 

To get out of their comfort zone. 
Because when they start working with me is to start putting themselves out there and that's not something they are used to. 

However, it's been a while (a month) since I have done it. So it's about time.
