Passionate community builder and tech enthusiast, I have successfully transitioned from working as a primary school teacher to becoming a tech leader, leveraging my skills in UX/UI design and Webflow development.

As the Founder of the Floxies Community, I've created an empowering platform for over 1500 women in UX/UI design and Webflow development. Our weekly "Wonder Wednesdays" live events provide our members with valuable insights from industry experts, fostering a vibrant and supportive learning environment.

In addition to Floxies, I work as the Community Manager for NoCodeOps, where I've built a thriving community centered around no-code operational solutions.
Our weekly live events bring in thought leaders from the no-code space, further enhancing the knowledge and skills of our community members.

My unique blend of creativity, technical skills, and community-focused approach has not only allowed me to build and nurture these communities but has also established me as a thought leader in the tech space.

I’m continuously seeking out new ways to grow and optimize our communities, fostering a culture of learning and mutual support. I believe in the transformative power of communities and the limitless potential they hold for individual growth and industry innovation.

In my free time, I enjoy playing the piano, playing soccer and playing video-games
(yes, I love playing in general! 😜).

Hi, I'm Max and it's great to connect!

My career journey hasn’t been linear (is anyone’s?), but I’m grateful it’s led me to what I care about most: helping people feel seen, supported, and like they belong.

I started out in marketing and advertising, working across music labels, agencies, and my own freelance practice. But during the early days of the pandemic, burnout and a deep craving for more meaningful work led me to community building, and I haven’t looked back since.

Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to build and support communities ranging from 300 to over 300,000 members, speak at 20+ events (including Creative Mornings and Talkbase in Prague), and collaborate with brands such as Square, SuperHi, and Origin.

Some people call me a “community cheerleader,” a nickname I wear proudly. My work is rooted in care, clarity, and connection. Whether I’m leading strategy, hosting an event, coaching a founder, or writing a newsletter, I’m always thinking about how to make people feel a little more human and a little less alone.

Outside of work, I’m an amateur DJ and playlist curator (music has been a lifelong passion), a writer, and a proud advocate for individuals with limb differences. I serve on the board of Design With Us and volunteer as a coach with Nubability.

Hey everyone,

This has been my first week at Sprout Social, and I’m enjoying meeting the team and getting back into the swing of things! Onboarding has been a bit overwhelming with getting used to all of the new things, but I’m reminding myself that I can ease into it, too.

Also, had a few house issues with plumbing and electrical this week on top of starting a new job, so it was definitely a doozy. Here’s to more calm and centered ahead.

Let’s get into it:

1. Believe in yourself always.

2. Giving back fills up my cup. Super grateful to be able to get back into volunteering again.

3. Good onboarding is chef’s kiss, and I’m thankful that Sprout does it on point.

HI HEY HELLO ITS ALL CAPS TUESDAY!

REMINDER: SOME PARTS OF LIFE GET BETTER WHEN YOU STOP TRYING TO OPTIMIZE THEM. NOT EVERYTHING NEEDS A SYSTEM, A HACK, OR A PLAN.

SOME THINGS JUST NEED YOUR ATTENTION AND A LITTLE PATIENCE.

I’ve been noticing a pattern in how I show up online, and it’s one I can’t ignore anymore.

I put immense pressure on myself to create content and always show up everywhere, all while being fast to react. That pressure has definitely helped me get my name out there for my career and my content journey in a relatively short amount of time, but it has also come at a cost that I don’t think I fully acknowledged until recently.

I spend way too much time on here, always trying to engage, create content, respond quickly, and be helpful like my life depends on it. Somewhere along the way, it started to feel like if I wasn’t constantly showing up, I would get left behind. Like if I slowed down, I’d miss an opportunity, fall out of people’s minds, or lose momentum in my career and relationships. That I’d somehow be forgotten and have to start over. I know that’s my scarcity mindset talking, and even though I can recognize it as not fully true, the cycle is still really hard to break.

Hey everyone,

There have been three big birthday celebrations this week in the Pete household, with my father-in-law’s on Tuesday, Deon’s on Thursday, and Celeste’s on Saturday! January is always a busy birthday month for us (my Mum and my birthday coming up next week).

Also had a great week 2 at Sprout and am feeling more settled, which is always a good feeling. Looking forward to an extra long weekend with Monday off work and will be celebrating by getting some extra steps in.

Let’s get into it:

1. A lot of life really is just relearning things you already knew but forgot to practice.

2. Tell your friends that you’re proud of them.

3. It’s so basic, but when I’m feeling anxious or in my head, the best things that work for me are exercise and journaling.

Hey everyone,

I hope that everyone has been having a great holiday break. It’s been pretty relaxing here. A lot of time with friends and family, and plenty of rest, which was much needed. This was my first holiday break without having to check in at work, maybe forever in my career, so I definitely took time to be checked out.

It’s the start of work for many of us this upcoming week, and a reminder to myself (and maybe y’all too) that we can take it slow. We don’t need to hit the ground running and burn ourselves out by the end of January.

Let’s get into it:

1. Most worries disappear once you breathe and move on.

2. Sometimes you just got to say some affirmations and remind yourself that you got this!

3. Instead of comparing what you have vs so and so, reflect on what you have now vs. you 1 year ago. We’re growing more than we think. We have more than we think.
