Is it the soft OR hard skills

both.

Both are important, but they need to be showcased in a way that conveys value.

Otherwise, they'll fall flat.

An easy way to show how you’ve used BOTH soft or hard skills to achieve results is this:

An example is:

Reduced turnover by 85% by mentoring internal sales talent in weekly 30-minute sessions, despite the launch of competing drug in the region.

We've not even considered searching:

This helps to revive your old connections, nurture your current ones, and stay engaged with new people who are active in the arena where you want to be seen.

Network with these 5-5-5 every work day
and once you've done it, check it off your list.

Don't spend your entire day scrolling and networking 
and you'll avoid burnout that can happen 
with a robust (but overloaded) 
networking strategy.

I wanted to be a movie star after playing Marc Antony in Julius Ceasar when I was in the 5th grade but my father shut that down real quick. Instead, I became a lawyer. As my father reminded me frequently before he died in 2006, I get to act and get a steady paycheck too. 

I'm on LinkedIn for smart, fun conversations with good humans and to help others whenever I can, which is why I decided to become a Certified Life Coach. Coaching is currently on ice and I'm only accepting VIP pro bono clients. (I didn't become a coach to get rich.)

I was a file clerk, associate, and partner at Fisher Phillips, a national employment law firm, until my client, Vista Ford, made me an offer I couldn't refuse. After 12 years with Vista Ford, I joined ComplyAuto, to continue serving the auto dealerships that had once been my clients. 

I serve as General Counsel, Corporate Secretary, and VP Human Resources for ComplyAuto because I still identify as an employment lawyer.   

My side-hustle is raising money for orphanages in Lebanon, where I'm from through Society for Orphaned Armenian Relief (SOAR), a 501c3 charitable organization. 

I write and publish children's books based on grown-up books to raise money for SOAR. 

"Ralphy's Rules for Living the Good Life.," starring my furry client, Ralphy, is inspired by The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. (I am also a dog walker but I am not accepting new clients because Ralphy had me sign a non-compete.)

"Ralphy's Rules for Feelings" is based on life-coaching skills I learned through The Life Coach School. 

I donate net proceeds to Bird's Nest orphanage in Beirut and the Armenian Evangelical Boarding School in Anjar.

It all started with a DM on LinkedIn. Chris Cleveland asked me to meet him for coffee to get my insight on a business idea.
 
I knew Chris from working as the Compliance Director at a competitor dealership in SoCal and also because my dealership was one of the first to purchase the compliance software that he had developed at ComplyAuto  (because it's the best).
 
I knew that he moved to Utah recently and wrote a great review for my children’s book. But, that was the extent of our relationship. I agreed to meet for coffee anyway because (1) I love coffee (2) I love helping people and (3) I liked Chris.
 
We met at People’s Coffee near me and Chris told me about how he started his company with his partner, Shane. My eyes lit up. Shane was my friend but had lost touch over the last few years. 

Then, Chris told me why I hadn’t been able to get in touch with Shane. Shane died recently. I couldn’t believe it and I couldn’t hold back the tears. It was a horribly sad shock. Chris said that he started following me on LinkedIn because Shane talked about me and said things like “you would like her,” “we should get Talar to work with us,” and “her name is Herculian, man!” I had no idea about any of this until I met with Chris. And then, he asked me to join ComplyAuto.
 
I took some time to think about it and told my boss at the time, who was and still is a dear friend. My boss said, "this feels like an unwanted divorce but I want what's best for you."

The rest is history. I said "yes," and I"m celebrating 3 years with ComplyAuto today! 

Time flies when you’re having fun. Feels like it was just yesterday.

Everyone misses an important date occasionally. Some get chastised by a boss or client, some get sanctioned by a judge and others just wallow in shame. But to err is to be human. And I am human. 

I missed a very important date last week - Nate Randle’s birthday. And, it was a big one.  

I could try to make an excuse about why I missed the date or that I intentionally waited a week to wish him a happy birthday, but I’m not going to do that. I’m going to own up to my shortcoming and beg for forgiveness.

Happy birthday Batman.  Glad you were born.
