Your safe place will kill you, and for most founders, that “safe place” isn’t the couch... It’s your calendar.

A few weeks ago, I spoke to a CEO who told me something that sounded logical:

“I can’t focus on my health right now. My company needs me.”

And I get it. When you're building something, it feels irresponsible to slow down.

So he did what most high-performers do:

➡️ He optimized everything except himself:

- Back-to-back meetings
- Quick snacks between calls
- Late nights “just finishing one more thing”
- Travel, airports, client dinners

... And workouts… “when life calms down”

But life doesn’t calm down. It scales.

‼️ The problem is… your business rewards self-neglect.

No one gives you a warning sign when you're burning out.

- You still perform.
- You still deliver.
- You still close deals.

So you assume you're fine.

Until one day you wake up and realize:

You’re not building a business anymore…

You’re building a body that can’t carry it.

❗ Your nervous system doesn’t know the difference between:

- investor pressure
- constant decision-making

... and physical danger.

📚 Science shows chronic stress increases:

It’s a slow decline disguised as productivity.

And it gets worse…

Studies show prolonged sitting is linked to higher risk of cardiovascular disease and early mortality, even in people who exercise.

That’s the “active couch potato” problem.

Your comfort zone becomes the voice that says:

“I’ll fix my health after the next milestone.”

And that milestone always comes with a cost:

- another coffee instead of breakfast
- another meeting instead of a walk
- another late night instead of sleep
- another quarter sacrificed “for the mission”

Until one day… your body collects the debt.

Funny how people only care about “research” when it supports what they want to believe...

Executives demand data for everything.

ROI. Forecasting. Strategy decks. KPIs.

❓But when it comes to Ozempic?

“It’s safe.”

“Everyone is doing it.”

“My doctor recommended it.” (ever heard of advice with a side of commission? 😉)

No questions asked.

‼️ So let’s talk about what the research (and real life) actually shows.

Over the past 3 months alone, I’ve had 15+ executives come to me saying the exact same thing:

- “I lost weight… but I look worse.”
- “I feel weaker.”
- “And I’m terrified to stop because I’ll gain it back.”

And they’re not imagining it.

❌ Ozempic (semaglutide) isn’t a fat loss drug.

It’s an appetite suppressant.

✅ You eat less → you lose weight.

It feels like magic as you keep bingeing, skip workouts, eat whatever you want… and fat disappears. 

😉 But magic ALWAYS has a bill.

And the bill is muscle, energy, and metabolic health.

Because when calories drop too quickly without strength training + protein…

✖️ You don’t just lose fat.

🫠 You lose muscle.

And studies confirm a significant portion of weight lost on GLP-1 medications comes from lean mass.

Muscle is what keeps you:

✔️ strong
✔️ athletic
✔️ metabolically efficient
✔️ looking lean instead of “flat”

❓ So what happens?

You end up lighter on the scale… but SOFTER, bublier in the mirror.

⚠️ And then comes the part nobody talks about:

When people stop, the weight often returns.

A major trial published in JAMA showed participants regained around two-thirds of the weight they lost within one year after stopping semaglutide.

➡️ And what comes back first?

Not muscle.

Fat.

So now you’re worse off than before:

🫠 weaker
🫠 higher body fat percentage
🫠 slower metabolism
🫠 dependent on a monthly prescription to “maintain”

To be clear: these drugs can be life-changing for diabetics and medical obesity cases.

But for high-performing executives using it as a shortcut?

Most are doing it without a real strategy.

And the body always collects the debt.

So I'm sharing my 59-year-old client's transformation blueprint.

Because no exec should waste another year believing these lies.

❌ Stop believing your metabolism is dead
❌ Stop thinking you need hours in the gym
❌ Stop accepting the dad bod as inevitable

Here's what actually works ⤵️

1️⃣ Lie 1: "My metabolism crashed" 

Truth: It only drops 2% per decade 

Fix: You're just sitting 80% more than at 25

2️⃣ Lie 2: "Too old for muscle" 

Truth: 60-year-olds build muscle like 20-year-olds 

Fix: Lift weights 3-4x/week and eat enough protein!

3️⃣ Lie 3: "No time" 

Truth: You have time for 3-hour dinners 

Fix: Schedule workouts like board meetings

4️⃣ Lie 4: "Low testosterone" 

Truth: Your lifestyle tanks it (-40%) 

Fix: Sleep 7-8h + lift heavy + eat whole food + protein

5️⃣ Lie 5: "Need cardio marathons" 

Truth: Strength > endless cardio 

Fix: Walk 10k steps + lift weights

My 59 yo client started at 54. 

Now deadlifts 180kg. 
15 pull-ups. 
Zero meds.

Your age isn't the problem. 

Your excuses are.

I'm never the most shredded person in the room... And I don't care.

I train:

✅ Just like this photo, most take the ferry to get to the top of Table Mountain, I'd rather climb and enjoy every part of the hike!

-The founder who carried his luggage up 4 flights when the elevator broke. Didn't even breathe heavy.

-The exec who learned to surf at 52 because why the hell not?

❌ They're not chasing six-packs or PRs.

✔️ They're chasing freedom.

The freedom to: 

→ Age without limitations
→ Sit on the floor and get back up 
→ Travel without worrying about mobility 
→ Say yes to adventures without fearing injuries 

❌ I don't train to be the fittest woman in the room.

✔️ I train to be the most capable.

Strong enough. Lean enough. Mobile enough. Functional enough. 

To do whatever the hell I want, whenever I want, for as long as my body allows it. 

So nothing in daily life feels hard.

I train to make life easier, to age better, and avoid injuries later. 

Because muscle = protection. 

✅ Train for life, (you'll never quit)

❌ not for likes or appearance.

Most founders and C-levels don’t need to cut carbs. They need to cut 

THEIR EGO! 

Because the biggest reason high performers stay stuck isn’t lack of knowledge…

It’s the belief that they can “outwork” biology. 

I’ve coached executives and founders for 5+ years and I can tell you this...

❌ What’s ruining your body composition isn’t pasta.

➡️ It’s these 3 things that definitely need to be eliminated from your "diet" 😉 

💩 1. Inconsistency masked as a “busy schedule”

They’ll crush 5 workouts in one week…

Then disappear for 3.

They’ll eat clean Monday–Friday…

Then sabotage everything with dinners, travel, and stress eating.

And then they wonder why their body doesn’t change.

Your calendar isn’t the problem.

Your lack of a system is.

💩 2. Self-criticism disguised as “high standards”

Missing a workout doesn’t make you undisciplined.

Eating pizza doesn’t make you a failure.

But high achievers often treat themselves with a level of criticism they would NEVER tolerate from anyone else.

And that mindset always leads to the same cycle:

pressure → guilt → burnout → overcompensation → quitting

If you want long-term results, your strategy can’t be built on self-punishment.

💩 3. Impatience

Executives want health results like business results: FAST. 

But your body doesn’t care about your urgency.

It cares about your habits.

- Fat loss takes time.
- Muscle building takes time.
- Energy takes time.

If it was easy, everyone would be in shape.

And the people who win aren’t the most extreme…

They’re the most consistent.

Most high performers don’t fail because they’re not disciplined enough.

❌ They fail because they keep trying to do “too much”… 

✅ instead of doing the basics long enough to actually work.

Most fitness advice is built for people with unlimited time.

Not for founders and execs leading teams, scaling companies, and flying across time zones every month.

Here’s how I stay in top shape year-round, while running a business and traveling every 8-12 weeks:

The lie we’ve been sold:

Success OR health.

Career OR fitness.

Money OR vitality.

It’s nonsense.

After coaching hundreds of high-performing leaders, here’s what the fittest ones all have in common:

1. Nutrition ≠ dieting

Living off takeout, shakes, and protein bars? That’s not performance nutrition.

My staples:

Eggs 
Wild salmon
Grass-fed beef
Chicken breast
Sardines
Sweet potatoes, rice, quinoa
Leafy greens & tons of veggies
Berries and tons of fresh fruits
Fresh ginger and turmeric
Raw honey & sea salt
Avocados
Dates 
Nuts

Simple. Clean. Consistent.

2. Sleep = your secret hack

Poor sleep drops testosterone by 15%, 
raises hunger by 30%, 
and stores more belly fat.

My protocol:

- Phone off or on airplane mode by 11PM
- 7–8 hrs blocked off like board meetings 
- Magnesium glycinate before bed

Miss sleep? Miss results.

3. Training > Exercise

"I don't have time" just means "it's not a priority."

The truth? You only need 3-4 hours/week.

Heavy lifts. Progressive overload. 

Add 15 min cardio finisher at the end of each session. 

4. Daily Movement

10,000 steps, minimum.

How?

- Walking meetings
- Airport walks
- Post-meal strolls
- Standing desk
- Every call on your feet

Your watch becomes your accountability partner.

5. Stress: the silent killer

Chronic stress = chronic inflammation = stubborn fat that won’t budge.

My go-to tools:

- Deep breathing between meetings
- Scheduled friend/family + hobby time
- No email or social media until after noon
- Daily gratitude (yes, as cheesy as it sounds :))
- Time in nature
- Yoga

The execs who ignore this?

They’re the ones eating “clean” but can’t drop fat.

Because stress trumps salads every time.

➡️ Being “too busy” for fitness is like being too busy to refuel your jet.

Eventually… you crash.

My clients who get this:

 ✅ Close bigger deals (more energy)
 ✅ Lead better (emotional control)
 ✅ Better intimacy with their partner
 ✅ Show up fully for their family
 ✅ Age better and look sexier
 ✅ Live longer
