My current responsibilities include being a team leader of my kindergarten team, PBIS team, and a NEA Union Representative. I am also a mentor teacher for the IUSB masters program. It is a grant that will last 5 years. Currently, we are the only place in the United States that has a program to support Graduate students entering into the teaching profession.

▻ Privilege of working in a variety of educational settings to help train and assist the preschool teachers with the students, we were serving, who had special needs.
▻ Worked collaboratively with Occupational Therapists, Physical Assistants, and Speech and Language Therapists with overlapping services. Also conducted Annual Case Conference meetings
▻ Worked closely with the kindergarten and special education support staff to help successfully transition the students into kindergarten.
▻ Collected data on each goal and created addendums, as needed, to reflect their progress and current level of functioning. Had overlapping educational goals therefore I held teams for individual students on my caseload.

Lead Preschool and Kindergarten Teacher

I created and implemented a curriculum for the preschool and kindergarten classroom. I worked closely with the other other kindergarten and first grade teachers to ensure continuity between the programs.

I was in charge of recruiting, interviewing, and hiring employees for the program. I trained three other staff members and we co-developed the program together.  We had approximately 70 children in the after school program.  The after school consisted of homework help, snack time (we sometimes made it together), games, and special guests, art activities, and computer time. We also had special guests from the  Notre Dame's International programs come into our school. They brought in ethnic food, performed dances, and taught us about their traditions using artifacts.

With over 30 years of experience in teaching, mentoring, and leading, I am passionate about revolutionizing education and creating a paradigm shift in our system. I am a South Bend Community School Corporation (SBCSC) teacher. I implement instructional methods and materials aligned with state standards, integrate technology in the classroom, and assess student progress and performance.

I also serve as a team leader, a PBIS team member, and a mentor teacher for the IUSB master's program. I am part of the Grow SB! initiative, a unique and innovative partnership between SBCSC and IUSB that supports graduate students entering the teaching profession. I have been recognized as the Teacher of the Year for Hay Primary Center and a Top 10 Honors Group for the Corporation Teacher of the Year. My mission is to foster social and emotional well-being, inclusivity, and curiosity among my students and colleagues and to empower them to be the solutions we need in our educational system.

With a B.Sc. in Biochemistry and a L.L.B. from the University of Ottawa and member of Ontario and Québec Law Societies, I was forging my career as a labour and employment attorney in Montreal. But life had other plans. 

When my son Nico was diagnosed with severe autism at 2 years old, I abandoned my law career to become his full-time caregiver. Initially a one year sabbatical turned into years due to Nico's severe autism, the lack of proper educational alternatives and the lack of flexibility in the law profession. And I became the Ultimate Super Autism Mom - not only mom but therapist, teacher, advocate, program intervention manager, student of all things autism...and in the process, I LOST MY IDENTITY.

My women’s empowerment memoir ''Burnout to Unstoppable''details my transformational journey from a burned out woman with no identity, no goals, no aspirations to the self-actualized woman that I am today.  I accomplished this transformation via the self-care, mindset optimization and stress reduction strategies and habits that are now part of my proprietary process the “The Body-Mind Alignment Formula”.

This process is the basis for the “Woman 2.0 Health and Life Transformation Program” which I now teach to busy high achieving women from around the world. For example, one of my clients Stacy, a 50 year old executive in the financial services sector, single mother of two and caregiver to her autistic brother and two elderly parents came to me at the start of the pandemic. She was on the verge of a nervous breakdown. She was burned out and felt hopeless. After working together she was able to reclaim her physical health, was able to set firm boundaries and have the energy and mental strength to tackle her busy home and work schedule head on.
