If you’re not a tiny bit mortified

(you’re probably not doing it right).

The first time I posted a video, I deleted it four times because I was so nervous.

Telling my family I was not going to take that promotion and was starting an online business instead felt like walking into school n@ked.

Even though every single offer I release flies off the shelves I still feel like I want to vomit on launch day.

Why on earth do I keep doing it then?

Putting myself through the utter turmoil that is building a successful personal brand.

Because every move that has paid off started with a healthy dose of 

“oh my gosh, what am I doing?”

Whether you like it or not, the stuff that scares you is usually the stuff that grows you.

So I urge you to sit with the cringe.

Then do it scared.

Nothing iconic ever started with “I felt totally chill about it.”

Word on the street is you now have to be celebrity famous to be LinkedIn famous.

Because the Top Voice badges seem to be disappearing from creators,

and showing up on people the internet already knows.

Which makes me wonder:

Do you have to create top-voice-level-content to get the badge now?

Or do you just have to be famous elsewhere first?

It feels like LinkedIn is trying to make the badge more “exclusive” again.

And I get it.

If everyone has it, it means nothing.

But if you built your brand here, taught consistently here, and actually fed the platform with real expertise for years…

Watching that badge disappear with zero clarity is brutal.

If LinkedIn wants celebrities, fine.

But I’m here for the people who make me smarter on a Tuesday.

That constant split is such an emotional rollercoaster.

You’re doing enough.

We’ve got this. 

Even on the messy days.

📍Tag a parent who inspires you.

This time last year I was covered in acne, 10kg heavier, and struggling.

I was also launching… again.

I was the self-declared queen of the anti-hustle club.

Yet there I was, hustling.

Even though I was 7 months pregnant.

And didn’t need to launch from a financial point of view.

Instagram had persuaded me I was not doing enough.

All the women shouting about working 4 hours a week and making six-figures got to me.

So I told myself, I could work 4 hours a week.

Easy peasy.

Thing is, it is never only 4 hours.

And before I knew it I was duck-walking my way round my office as I DM’d yet another hot lead because, as I told my husband,

“it’s just one more message”.

(it wasn’t).

That’s the thing about January,

everyone tells you it needs to be your best month, 

that it determines your entire year, 

that you must succeed.

Full disclosure, I also tell my clients that.

Because it’s true.

People buy this time of year.

So, if you’re a coach, you best get to work.

Or…

Maybe you are done hustling yourself to the bone.

What if this year you stop wearing all the hats in your business just to keep up with that girl on Instagram.

And you instead show up as a CEO and hire experts to take the load off.

You give your nervous system a break so you don’t end up like me last year…

I didn't make a single penny from LinkedIn in my first year.

Okay, I lied.

I made £6k in the first two weeks (even though I only had 150 connections).

If I was to start all over again, I would follow the same strategy.

Which was to start posting before anything else.

Not building a website,

perfecting my offer

or creating a fancy funnel.

Just posting.

Because what most people get wrong is:

→ They spend months planning instead of testing what actually sells

→ They obsess over their profile before they have an audience

→ They wait until everything is "ready"

Meanwhile, I was posting daily about my my experience in a new space that scared the hell out of me.

I also talked about Marketing because that is what I knew. 

People saw I could help them.

They reached out.

I sold them something simple.

Just the stuff I already knew. 

Your audience will tell you what they want to buy, just like mine did.

And they decide that based on your content. 

But none of the above happens if you're still "getting ready" and building in silent.

Let your audience build your business with you.

Trust me and my two multi-6-figure-online-businesses... 

It works.

I thought I had good boundaries.

Until a client called my WhatsApp during bedtime for my baby...

And I picked up.

Stopped singing a lullaby and got straight on my computer.

My client needed me.

They were upset.

I had to help her.

Right?

Wrong.

My baby needs me.

My husband needs me.

After 6pm, they are all that matter.

Any client that does not respect that should not be a client.

But this isn't on them. 

It's on me.

I am responsible for maintaining my boundaries, nobody else.

This is how I'm tightening them so this never happens again:

✓ Hiring more Leaders so clients don't need me in the first place

✓ Keeping everything in my dedicated workspace (Slack)

✓ No more giving out my personal number

✓ Muting repeat offenders

Your boundaries will only work if you enforce them.

Stop making yourself available 24/7.

You shouldn't feel guilty for protecting your time.

And your clients should not dictate your life.

You built this business for freedom.

Set the rules. 

Stick to them. 

Fire anyone who can't respect them.

I got scammed of €6500 two weeks ago.

(It’s taken me this long to get over it enough to tell you about it)

Now I can finally laugh at myself...almost.

I was a total fool and you have full permission to tell me so. 

It happened while I have been planning our move to Portugal.

As I stayed awake late into the night searching for the perfect home for my little family. 

And I found one. 

Or so I thought.

It was almost too good to be true. 

Exactly what I had been manifesting. 

The “landlord” was lovely, he had a family too. 

He had a wife and would tell me stories about how he would take us for dinner when we arrive.

So my Dad booked flights to go meet him and view the property.

And I transferred a sickening amount of money to “lock it in”. 

He sent a contract. 

A copy of his passport. 

Proof he owned the property. 

Except, it wasn’t proof was it.

It was all fake. 

How, you may be asking, did he fool me? 

A woman who has lived in Bali (aka the Wild West when it comes to renting property) for the last 5 years?

Urgency. 

And scarcity. 

Every time he needed a payment it was layered with urgency. 

Every time we spoke he had “just got off the phone” with someone else who was interested.

Sure, he was a great con-man. 

But you know what else he was? 

A salesman. 


P.S: this experience was definitely not in the cards 🫠

Apparently podcasts are a sales funnel now

(so if you get invited to one don't say yes before reading this)

The worst type of sales strategies are the ones that are borderline manipulation.

This is one of those.

How it works is:

1. You get invited to go onto a podcast via DM

2. The company running the podcast is an authority so that persuades you to do it

Eg: "Podcast by the company that Tony Robbins uses for his sales"

3. They schedule 30 minutes of your time

4. They ask you to complete a detailed plan of what your problems and goals are beforehand

5. You get upsold into a solution that just happens to be exactly what you need after the podcast recording

I almost fell for it.

But then I realised that this whole approach didn't feel right to me.

I gave away 30 minutes of my time for a podcast.

Did my makeup.

Had a nanny with the baby.

Only to realize that the podcast was never about sharing my expertise.

It was about getting me to buy.

The "pre-interview questions" were actually a sales discovery call in disguise.

And the host was trained to pitch me at the end.

Thing is…

I'm not against selling (I actually love it).

I'm against pretending you're not.

If you’re trying to go viral on LinkedIn you’re doing it wrong.

To go viral you need to please the masses

To make money you need to please your target audience.

I’ve had posts do hundreds of thousands of views.

Nice for the ego, not what pays the bills.

What does?

Systems.

One of my clients had fewer than 1,000 followers.

She used the exact inbound flow I use for my agency and

within a week she had her first sale and 15 warm conversations in her DMs.

Post to make money first, 

then (once you’re rolling in dough)

worry about going viral.

LinkedIn removed hashtag feeds in 2024 

Most people didn’t notice.

But their reach did.

A few years ago, hashtags were the growth hack.

Follow hashtags.

Post with hashtags. 

Get discovered because of hashtags.

So everyone did it.

And LinkedIn did what LinkedIn always does when a feature gets gamed.

They turned it off.

In 2024, the hashtag feed disappeared.

In 2025, it stopped being a discovery mechanism altogether.

Yet I still see people ending posts with a tonne of hashtags like it’s 2019.

If hashtags still drove reach, you’d see posts ranking because of them.

They don’t.

What you see instead is posts that use storytelling and clear positioning on your feed.

The one strategy that will never get old is knowing how to write in your authentic voice

while also using words and phrases that your potential clients are searching for. 

That means that instead of using hashtags:

1. Use searchable phrases in the first two lines.

2. Repeat the core phrase naturally in the body.

3. One topic per post, ideally a clear problem people already search for.

The good news is you don’t need to rely on a hashtag strategy to get seen nowadays.

Your words do that now.

Mean girl marketing is having a moment on LinkedIn.

(except here it’s mostly men.)

And it’s being called “just being honest”.

Except it’s not.

Mocking someone’s photos is bullying. 

Quote posting someone’s content to “teach a lesson” is clout farming.

If you’ve been targeted, 

please don’t give up and vow to never post again.

Instead, take peace in the knowledge that these creators are not the authority.

Their message is not going to be heard by your people.

It is all a performance for cheap attention.

I doubt that anyone who posts this kinda thing is following me but... 

Just incase you are, you know that people don’t get better because you embarrassed them, right?

They grow because someone showed them the way.

So if you want to be a trusted voice with actual expertise all you need to do is two things:

1. Teach people how to do better

2. Be kind

It is really not that hard.

I was today years old when I realised,

everything I thought I knew about LinkedIn is wrong.

Enter: Brew 360.

The algorithm update that's literally-changed-everything.

You've heard me go on about the trust graph before.

I go on about semantic indexing.

How hashtags are basically de@d.

And how anything AI or automation will get you blocked.

Well, LinkedIn decided to give all of the above a fancy name: Brew 360.

And it saddens me that they used the word "brew", 

something I associate with yummy drinks like kombucha or beer

to name the end of the internet as we know it.

It's the biggest algorithm update I've ever seen.

Like, ever.

All those pretty post formatting tricks like the brackets below the hook.

Gone.

The cute little pin emojis below your posts with your own comment.

Also gone. 

And the arrows, we mustn't forget the arrows → ↓ ←

(well, technically you can still do them but you'll pay the price).

LinkedIn now want things messy.

They want real life debates in the comments section.

And if you're using anything remotely naughty to game the system. 
They. Will. Know. 

Even if you aren't but you are super active, 

that'll get you blocked too (just ask our boy Jasmin Alić​ ❤️‍🩹)

This matters because if you're running an online business and relying on LinkedIn to bring in clients 

which, let's be honest, you should be,
 
you gotta play it safe my friends. 

The internet is changing.

You don’t have a content problem.

You have a conversion problem.

You’re posting. 

& getting views, maybe even likes and comments. 

But you’re still not getting hot leads DMing you, let alone making sales.

Most people don’t have a strategy for turning posts into clients.

They’re guessing.

They’re hoping.

And then wondering why nobody reaches out to them.

Content only converts when it follows a framework.

Which is exactly why I created my SELL Content Framework ↓

S = Story
↱ Lived experience that makes people see themselves in you.

E = Example
↱ Proof it works. Client win, personal result, or “this worked” moment.

L = Lesson
↱ The shift. What you want them to take away.

L = Link
↱ The next step. Tell them exactly where to go.

Miss one and the post will disappear into the abyss of "meh" content.

Too much story means your post lacks authority so it won’t convert.

Too much proof and no actual story means it won’t get any reach. 

Too much teaching and no action means it won’t get any engagement.

No link and leads get lost. 

My clients sell out their offers using this content system. 

And I’ve closed premium packages in a single call because a single post did the heavy lifting.

Likes are cute. 

Leads are better.

Stop listening to people who haven’t done what you are trying to do.

Who haven’t been where you are trying to go.

Or experienced what you are trying to feel.

Including (but not limited to):

1. Your family

2. Your husband

3. Your best friend

4. That random person from high school.

Letting your life be dictated by the whims of people who have literally no idea what they are talking about 

will quietly sabotage your business faster than any algorithm update ever could.

Because whether we like it or not…

You know what well meaning advice from unqualified people is?

It’s just bad advice packaged differently.

If your last launch flopped 

(this is how you save the next one)

Rather than signing up for a mastermind that costs an arm and a leg 

Or learning an entirely new social media platform, 

marketing technique, 

or sales strategy…

Only to then trial and error your learnings through the next launch.

You actually stop wearing all the hats

and trying to be all the roles in your business.

What if this year is the year you start acting like a CEO.

You invest in support.

Not coaching.

Experts.

People to do the jobs you hate for you.

And most importantly: better than you. 

Without needing training.

Of micro-managing.

Wouldn’t that be a more strategic plan?

I may be bias, as I sit here getting a foot massage 

while my team respond to the 849 connection requests I have, 

get calls booked, 

grow my LinkedIn, 

and be me… just better.

But I’d say getting our support is the best decision you’ll make this year.

At 27 I was unemployed and living with my Dad.

My Sri Lanka business had to close because of covid.
 And I was sent back to England with my tail between my legs.

Desperate for money I taught yoga to the old ladies on the block.
 Tried my hand at online yoga videos (you will not find them.. I burned them 😅)

And walked the neighbours’ dogs.

All so I could buy the fancy apple cider vinegar from Waitrose and contribute to rent.

That was about as far as the money would stretch.
 In the space of 3 months I went from owning a retreat centre in Sri Lanka, 

surfing every day, 

and frolicking my heart out.
 To living with Pa (his new wife who I barely knew) and their 6-month-old baby.


I had a First Class degree from a top UK uni.

And more online course certificates than I could count on my fingers and toes.

Yet there I was, hustling for apple cider vinegar.

Eventually I landed an online marketing job and an actual pay check.

So I moved out of my dad’s and into a campervan.

At the time I loved the van.

My life was an adventure.

And although I could now afford my fancy vinegar, I was still broke.

It took 2 years for me to take the leap and start my online business.

By the end of Q1 of that first year I’d already made my corporate salary back.

By the end of Q2 I’d hit 6-figures.

That’s what a comeback looks like.

If you are sitting in your own “apple cider vinegar era” right now, 

wondering if it is ever going to turn around, this is your sign.

When they engage on every single one of your posts

(then ghost you the second you become a client).

Not a nice feeling.

Good news is this is most likely nothing to do with you.

Your coach has a marketing and sales team behind them.

That team actively moved you along their funnel.

When you bought? 

Their job was done.

Your spot on the engagement list got swapped for someone else who looks like they'll pay.

But these systems forget one thing:

Lifetime Value.

LTV.

The most important metric (in my humble opinion).

How do you keep that up?

By nurturing the relationships you have with your clients.

I know... that's a lot of lists to manage.

I have made $10k in a week in 4 different ways.

(these are what I would do again and why) ↓

1. Onboarding 1:1 coaching clients

Easy to sell.

Hard to deliver.

I would do this again, but only for the right client and capped at two per month.

This work requires presence, energy, and emotional bandwidth.

2. Selling a group training
High cash injection but also high output.

I found that quarterly launches of cohorts and constant fulfilment are the fastest way to burnout.

I could have kept up with this in my twenties.

But right now, I prefer slow evenings with my family and mornings that start in the spa, not Slack.

3. Selling a self study course
So much work upfront. 

Filming, structuring, refining.

No fulfilment once it is delivered.

This might surprise you, but I would actually not do this again.

I enjoy the fulfilment.

I like watching people succeed, not just seeing purchases come through.

Plus a launch always requires the same energy whether it’s low-ticket self-study offers off high ticket group cohorts.

4. Onboarding clients for my done-for-you LinkedIn agency

This has been the most challenging.

It is also the most fulfilling.

Working alongside my team.

Being part of viral posts.

Watching clients make their first ever sale online.

Selling out group trainings they thought would never fill up.

Hard, yes.

Worth it? Completely.

Making $10k in a week is not the goal.

Making $10k in a way you would still choose six months from now is.

3 tools my agency swears by

(and how we use them):
