2026 ≠ 2025. 

The market has already moved on:

1️⃣ GTM roles ↑ 20% YoY; active candidates ↓ 30%. Top profiles stay put or only engage quietly/selectively.

2️⃣ US hiring accelerates in Q1; ripples into ANZ + SG mid-Q2; Japan and broader APJ early Q3.

3️⃣ AI Infra and DevTool vendors are where capital, talent, and urgency are concentrating; fewer vendors, bigger platform bets.

4️⃣ AU, SG, and JP are now on near-even footing for HQ decisions: comp, leadership depth, and access to decision makers.

5️⃣ Regional VP seats are musical chairs. Miss the first 180 days and boards move quickly.

6️⃣ Enterprise AE comp at all-time highs: AU$450-475K OTE. Fewer reps, bigger patches, and much higher bar.

7️⃣ Foundational hires must bring POV, technical fluency, and 0→1 build experience (no exceptions). 

8️⃣ Hiring process has started to compress; best profiles won’t sit through 7-8 round interviews anymore.

9️⃣ “Nice-to-have” roles are disappearing; every GTM hire now needs a direct line to revenue or expansion.

🔟 The cost of indecision is rising faster than the cost of a bad hire.

These are clear markers of a real inflection point: fewer seats, faster decisions, and higher stakes…
