As the leader of the Energy Scenarios team at SSEN Transmission, I manage a multidisciplinary team of analysts, engineers, and data professionals. Our collective efforts are focused on turning complex data into actionable strategies. Our focus is on forecasting and strategic planning, ensuring we stay ahead of future energy demand and supply scenarios. This critical insight informs our planning and investment decisions, enabling SSEN Transmission to navigate the complexities of the energy transition towards Net Zero effectively.

•	Headed a team of five consultants managing team resource capacity and project prioritisation, learning and development, and building team growth potential through business development, selective recruitment, and software procurement.

After a fulfilling period focused on family and personal growth, I've resumed my professional journey, now with SSEN Transmission. I'm honoured to contribute to their mission of developing the network essential for Scotland and the UK's Net Zero ambitions. 

As an Energy Economist with a solid foundation of over 8 years in power market modelling—particularly in production cost modelling—I bring extensive experience with PLEXOS to the table. My professional journey has been driven by applied linear programming for optimization using financial and economic appraisal methods, specifically in energy-related decision-making.

I take pride in my analytical abilities and my deep understanding of energy markets, energy generation technologies, and power system operation. As a key advisor to public and private sector clients globally—including the Department of Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy in the UK and the Abu Dhabi Transmission System Operator—I have championed the use of innovation and data-led decision-making.

I've developed proprietary tools for forecasting and optimization. Recently, I have ventured into the realm of AI to learn how to effectively utilise this new technology to innovate in advancing the energy sector.

'Up-Front Investment', is not rocket science, its the easiest concept in understanding that a companies profits comes from what it has invested in itself in order to achieve Right-First-Time . . . . . which is the philosophy behind EN9145, the giveaway being the word 'Advanced'!
*  Proactive Improvement of Prediction and Prevention for Product Creation . . . . Right First Time
*  We know that 85% of the cost of manufacturing a product has to do with the original design, so in other words, the decisions that went into the design of the product is what’s costing the most money!
*  This is why Conceptual Design is a very essential process in the product development since poor design is the root cause of around 80% of product defects and 60% of the failures occurring in the products’ warranty period.
* Investing in preventive (Good Quality) activities lowers the Cost of Poor Quality (CnQ), whilst, at the same time and pace, the level of maturity & compliance of your baseline design increases towards the goal of 100% by CDR.
*  Which is why spending 15% more time up-front in (thinking) Design will save 25% in Non-Value-Added corrections during production!
*  More effort in preventing a poor design from being released is one way of reducing the CnQ.
*  Improvement in prediction of 'what-if's' for prevention of NC's in product conception . . . . Right First Time.
*  Successful products with a low CnQ use a Live 'Control Plan', which is used and updated throughout the product life-cycle. Any NC is traceable back to the CP where FMEAs can be investigated as to how & why it occurred and then mitigated by updating the FMEAs and improving the design or process, or both.
*  Quality first, is a transformation to deliver Right First Time on Quality, Time and Cost to enable trouble-free Customer Line, and to meet Safety and Customer expectations
