My hot take? AI hasn't changed sales very much 🤷‍♂️

Sure there's been lots of layoffs and hype for automation, but how has it actually changed the buying and selling experience?


Buyers
❌ Still don't trust salespeople
❌ Still can't get a straight answer without taking a meeting

Sellers
❌ Still have to do research because AI is unreliable
❌ Still have to work their asses off to build and maintain relationships because buyers hate being on the receiving end of automation


Sales is frustrating. Always has been. Always will be.

IMO learning the boring fundamentals and working your ass off is and will always be a safer bet than learning AI

The best salespeople don’t close deals…
They remove risk.
That’s the whole game.

Not hype.
Not pressure.
Not “circling back.”

Risk removal.

Here’s what that actually looks like in real sales:

• Remove doubt → Show receipts. Proof. Screenshots. Data. Real outcomes.
• Remove confusion → Explain the decision in plain English. No jargon. No complication.
• Remove friction → Shorten the steps. Simplify the process. Do the heavy lifting for them.
• Remove fear of regret → Contrast doing nothing vs. making the move. Give them the picture.
• Remove uncertainty → Set clear expectations for onboarding, timelines, and support.
• Remove surprises → Be upfront about price, scope, and what’s not included.
• Remove pressure → Give them space while staying consistent and confident.

Sales isn’t magic, it’s safety.

When people feel protected, they say yes.
When they feel exposed, they stall.

Your pitch can be fire.
But if the buyer still feels like they’re taking a blind jump?

They won’t leap.

So the real job isn’t just to convince.

It’s to make the path forward feel obvious, safe, and risk-free.

There’s nothing more humbling than watching your wife do something you know you couldn’t.

Teaching another little human to learn is wild to me.

I don’t remember who taught me how to read.
But I know it wasn’t easy.
And I know it required a level of patience most of us don’t appreciate until we’re adults.

My wife is doing that for our kids…by herself.
Every day.
Page by page.
Letter by letter.

And she is crushing it.

It hits different when you watch your kids’ minds turn on in real time
when you see them sound things out… stumble… try again… then suddenly get it.

That spark you see in their eyes?

She created that.

I’m just proud.
Proud of her pouring into them.
Proud of our kids learning how to learn.
Proud that their world is getting bigger because she’s helping build it.

Behind so many confident kids is a parent quietly doing the work no one sees.
