My story consists of years of physical and mental abuse, drug addiction, homelessness, shame, self-loathing, incarceration and suicidal ideation.

I thought I was worthless.

I was offered a gift by someone in the culinary field that wanted to pay it forward, as it had been paid forward to them.  This set me on a path to get clean and see how I could pay it forward.

Forty-four percent (44%) of the U.S. makes below a living wage.
  
Poverty is on the rise.

Food Insecurity is at an all-time high.

How do we address these socioeconomic challenges with actionable change that breaks the cycles?

On the Advocacy side, we lock arms with End Workplace Abuse, Workplace Fairness, over 115 partners in 8 countries, to stand firm that people matter over everything else.  We are currently charging in the NY/NJ/CT area to help pass the Psychological Safety Act.

Our boots on the ground is our Transformation Kitchen(™️) program which builds strong communities of mentally and physically healthy humans that leave their addictions, violence, incarceration and past decisions behind to move forward in a positive way.  

With our Director of Student Wellness, Sarah O'Brien, we make sure those moving through our program are set up to thrive, not survive.

We are much more than a culinary training facility; we are a beacon of hope in the darkness.

Our first #TK is in Matagalpa, Nicaragua, working in tandem with Rayo de Sol to build a legacy of economic change.

I am the Founder and creator of a company designed to help small to medium sized Not-For-Profit, and Social Good organizations receive sound, expert advice, technical system assistance, and services without sales pressure and upselling. We support our clients in every aspect of HR, developing policies, procedures, technical advice, developing programs and platforms to enhance their needs and put them on an empowered path of self-reliance.

As a senior leader of the organization, I was tasked with developing strategies for retaining the best talent, including how we recruited, engaged. and communicated with staff members across three countries and in multiple US states.  

My teams and I built the entire HR stack, award winning Safety Protocols for our warehouses, and all of the policies and procedures for the company.  We also developed, created, and marketed natural, food grade, nutrient-based supplements, and personal care products which were manufactured and distributed in the US.  

Our incredible marketing and Sales teams worked in tandem to double our YoY numbers in every division category, opening pathways to new markets, while solidifying relationships with Amazon, Walmart, Sally's Beauty, and others.  We developed strategies to increase our market space in traditional brick-n-mortar, B2B and B2C capacities while challenging ourselves for "what's next".

Our Warehouse teams went over 2 years without a single accident, maintained cGMP standards, and received excellent ratings from the FDA, Health Department, and other agencies, while shipping 100% on time to our partners each week.  This won us two coveted awards where we all shared the victory.

We are a charitable 501c3 Nonprofit, incorporated as hr-4u inc., in Delaware.  We're on a mission to remove the roadblocks that create barriers to finding living-wage employment for all communities. 

How we affect change:

We create meaningful relationships with employers, of all sizes, that are already exhibiting equitable hiring behaviors, creating meaningful diversity measures, and align with our mission.  We also look for individuals that are coaching leader behaviors towards people over everything.

We shine a light on the successful behaviors of our Employer-Partners & Leader-Partners through social media avenues, video recordings, speaking engagements and other venues.  By shining this light on positive behaviors, we create change for all to see and witness.  As our partnerships grow, the intensity of our light will grow, creating organic change while supporting fantastic leaders that are changing the world.

I founded MPWR Services in 2018 to help high-achieving professionals gain clarity, confidence, and career momentum — especially during times of transition, burnout, or growth.

Today, I lead The Career Level-Up Collective — a flagship career development community for ambitious professionals who want to build influence, lead with purpose, and grow their careers with clarity and support (instead of burning out or going it alone).

Inside the Collective, members access expert coaching, real-world tools, and peer support to help them level up, whether that means a promotion, a job change, leadership development, or simply more fulfillment at work.

-Directed 10 staff members while serving as strategic counsel to senior leadership across corporate and nonprofit accounts with a variety of budgets. Notable clients: Walmart, Sam's Club, Fisher House Foundation, Red Gold, Rubbermaid Commercial Products.

-Developed data-driven integrated communications plans, CSR efforts, thought leadership programs and cause marketing campaigns to create positive societal impact while driving revenue results for clients. Key win: A multi-stage military and veterans communications campaign more than doubling goal, with 630+ placements and 447 million+ impressions, reaching members of the military/veterans community, industry leaders and the general public.

-Identified areas of efficiencies and developed concrete, implementable solutions to nurture staff development, grow new business opportunities and establish agency as an industry thought leader.

Share Our Strength | No Kid Hungry

-Championed the mission to end childhood hunger in America by planning, directing and implementing PR programs to raise awareness and spur action among key constituents for $50-million anti-poverty nonprofit.

-Directed high performing team of five responsible for national consumer media relations, celebrity/digital influencer relations, strategic media partnerships and cause marketing communications. Garnered executive support to establish team, creating three new positions and procuring the organization’s first PR agency of record.
 
-Managed a total budget upwards of half a million dollars, representing 1/3 of the entire communications department budget. Sought efficiencies and cost-savings measures to make the greatest impact using the fewest resources, including negotiating contracts with external vendors to avoid duplication of responsibilities while maximizing results.

-Developed integrated marketing communications plans for approximately 12 major initiatives per year to raise awareness of the No Kid Hungry brand and support aggressive fundraising goals.

-Exceeded team key performance indicators consistently, securing an unprecedented amount of media coverage and influencer engagement, with year-over-year growth. Key Win:  A 2016 multi-faceted marketing campaign resulted in a record-breaking 743 million total impressions, featuring week-long programming on TODAY, a Snapchat geo-filter, celebrity appearances on national TV and social media, and multiple mommy blogger meet-ups in select cities.

-Established the organization’s first formal celebrity relations program, forging partnerships to produce a roster of 30+ active celebrity supporters. Celebrity engagement supported advocacy efforts, resulted in regular placements in top tier consumer press (e.g., People and OK! Magazine) and generated revenue ($1,000,000+ from 2015-2016). Notable celebrity supporters:  Ayesha Curry, Kevin Bacon, Kristin Bell and Jeff Bridges.

Associate Director, Consumer Communications

-Counseled executives at 45+ of the largest corporate sponsors and developed cause marketing programs to achieve sponsors’ sales, branding and corporate citizenship objectives while raising the nonprofit’s brand profile to attract new funders. Key sponsors include Food Network, Arby’s, Weight Watchers, Whole Foods, Williams-Sonoma and Kmart.

-Co-led cross-functional internal team and multiple external vendors for the nonprofit’s largest consumer fundraising program (No Kid Hungry month).  Results: $2 million+ funds raised; 6,965 pieces of coverage; 167.8 million impressions; $2.4 million in publicity value. 

-Directed holiday PR efforts, resulting in: 45 placements, including “Kathie Lee & Hoda,” “NBC Nightly News” and Family Fun; 30 million impressions; 1,200 tweets from 323 mom bloggers during an interactive twitter party. 

-Managed PR efforts for grassroots bake sale fundraiser, featuring World’s Largest Bake Sale stunt.  Results:  500+ pieces of coverage, including Parade, “Today,” Parents, “Better Show,” “Fox & Friends” and Yahoo! Shine; 398,265,187 impressions; $761,269.37 in publicity value. 

-Facilitated in-kind, cross-promotional opportunities with media partners including Food Network, Clear Channel and USA Today, while leveraging celebrity ambassador relationships. 

-Instituted the organization's first formal print PSA program. Results: 62 national placements in leading publications such as Family Circle, Redbook and Woman’s Day; 113,641,271 impressions; $5.9 million publicity value.

-Developed the nonprofit’s first crisis communications plan for corporate partners, identifying crisis scenarios and developing a protocol for handling such events.

-Developed and led annual marketing and communications programs for a portfolio of consumer clients, including the agency’s largest account, with budgets ranging from $5,000 to in excess of $1.5 million.

-Directed and executed an annual, national consumer education campaign for six years, resulting in: 836 million+ impressions, $97 million+ in ad equivalency; nearly 5 million visits online; one million requests for quotes; and status as highly anticipated event among national outlets including CNN and U.S. News & World Report.

-Led industry-first product launch, working with multiple internal and external constituents to develop PR materials, a micro site, online banner ads, two radio spots and 20 press-ready customer testimonials. Results included 2,169,286+ impressions from editorial coverage, including an article in The New York Times, which served as a watershed moment for sales.

-Secured $1.4 million+ in new business projects through building relationships and developing RFP presentations.

-Established agency’s social media team and developed the company blog, which increased search engine visibility of website from unlisted to the #1 spot under targeted keywords.

-Instituted agency's first intern program, developing all procedural, recruitment and evaluation materials, and then transitioned ownership to mid-level staff.
