A competitor just cloned our entire product. It was the best news we had all week.

We felt validated.

My co-founder and I were doing keyword research for Lovalingo when we found a site that looked... familiar. It was basically a clone of our first version.

The problem? Their API keys were broken, and the installer didn't work.

It reminded us of three hard truths about building in public: 

• Validation follows imitation: If no one is copying you, the problem you're solving might not be painful enough. 
• Execution is the only moat: It’s easy to borrow a landing page, but making React i18n "just work" with zero-flash rendering is where the real engineering happens.
• Distraction is the real killer: While clones struggle with basic setups, we’re shipping automatic component detection and custom glossaries.

We’re not fighting copycats; we’re fighting the friction of manual translation files.

When you announce what you’re building, you trade "secrecy" for accountability and faster feedback.

לוואקום הזה בדיוק נכנסת לונאייר.
לונאייר לא גדלה מהר בגלל שיווק אגרסיבי,
אלא בגלל שהבעיה שהיא פותרת באמת כואבת, והפתרון שלה פשוט עובד.

כשמתרגמים את נפח השימוש הזה לכסף, התוצאה מטורפת:
במספרים האלו, לונאייר תחסוך בשנה למשתמשים ~$5,000,000 🤯
זה הסכום שהיה נדרש כדי לייצר את אותה המסה של תוכן עם עורכים אנושיים.

אז מה עבד לי בחודש הזה?

✅ פוקוס על הליבה: המוצר עושה דבר אחד ועושה אותו מהר.
✅ מהירות: הקשבתי למשתמשים ותיקנתי תוך כדי תנועה.
✅ הבנת הקהל: בניתי כלי לאנשי שיווק, יזמים ופאונדרים, לא לעורכי וידאו.

עכשיו האתגר האמיתי מתחיל:
לשמור על הקצב, להמשיך לשפר ולתת ערך למשתמשים שנתנו בי אמון.

אז בואו נסיים עם זה:

אני: Wix חזרו ל-5 ימי עבודה מהמשרד ויש לי משהו לא מעניין להגיד על זה.
אתם: דעה נחרצת.
האלגוריתם: ❤

שבוע טוב

47 broken projects,
47 manual emails sent.

Last week, an external provider crashed,
right when a couple of important companies were trying Lunair,
which brought Lunair down as well.

It happened not only to these important users, but to every user.
Projects failed at the very last step.
Users had already approved all the steps, and no video was generated.

I watched the dashboard:
Saw users leaving, not coming back.
Not gonna lie - that hurt to watch.


Worst part is -
It wasn't even Lunair's fault, I could've just waited for it to fix itself.

Instead:
→ I opened every broken project
→ Fixed them manually, one by one
→ Completed the production of the video
→ sent every user a personal email:
"Hey, saw there was a glitch. I fixed it manually for you. Here is your video."

And then I checked the data again:
83% of these users came back,
they got their videos,
and Lunair earned their trust again.

Because they realized there's a real person behind the screen who cares about their result, not just their credits.

👉 Users don't expect perfection - they expect you to care
👉 A personal touch beats a polished system response
👉 Taking ownership builds more trust than explaining why it's not your fault

Trust isn't built when things go right.
It's built when things go wrong, and you show up anyway.


That's the startup life no one talks about -
fixing things at 2am that weren't even your fault 🥲

פחות שליטה למשתמש = משתמש שמח יותר.

רגע, מה? 🤔

לרוב לא שמים לב,
אבל "יותר שליטה" מגיעה גם עם:
🅇 יותר אחריות על המשתמש,
🅇 יותר היסוסים ושאלות,
🅇 יותר החלטות לקחת.

וכל החלטה שמבקשים מהמשתמש לקחת?
זו עוד הזדמנות להגיד "אחזור לזה אחר כך".. ולא לחזור לעולם.

ב-Lunair ראיתי את זה הכי ברור בשלב שנועד "למנוע טעויות יקרות":
אישור תסריט לפני הקלטת הקריינות.

לוגית, זה היה נכון -
למה לייצר קריינות על תסריט שהמשתמש עוד לא אישר?
אבל השלב הזה גם יצר צומת החלטה.
וצומת החלטה = חיכוך = הזדמנות לנטוש.

אז הורדתי את השלב.
עכשיו התסריט והקריינות מיוצרים יחד, אוטומטית,
עוד לפני שהמשתמש ראה ואישר את התסריט.
רוצה לערוך את התסריט שכבר הוקלט? אין בעיה.

כן, אני סופג עלות של ג'ינרוט שלרוב ישתנה.
אבל הרווחתי משהו יקר הרבה יותר: מומנטום.

השאלה המנחה הייתה:
מה יותר יקר - העלות של לדלג על השלב,
או העלות של הנטישה שהוא יוצר?
התשובה הייתה ברורה.

כי טעויות אפשר לתקן, גם אם עולות כמה קרדיטים.
אבל משתמש שאיבד ריכוז ונטש - קשה מאוד להחזיר.
