Authority Compounds… and So Does Confusion

I don’t talk about this much but there was a moment in my business where I almost walked away from LinkedIn completely. 🤔

Not because I didn’t believe in it, but because I was tired. 😫

👉 Tired of posting thoughtful content that got polite engagement... but no real conversations.
👉 Tired of spending hours planning, writing, showing up… with no increase in clients.
👉 Tired of feeling like the algorithm was eating my brilliance for breakfast.

And the worst part? I knew I was good at what I did. The market just didn’t know it yet.

I was visible → 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦𝘯.I was present → 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘳𝘦𝘥.I was Seen → 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘴𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵-𝘢𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘳.

The emotions were rising up:
⛓️‍💥 It felt unfair.
⛓️‍💥 It felt confusing.
⛓️‍💥 And if I’m being honest… 𝗶𝘁 𝗳𝗲𝗹𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹. I know you know what I mean.

One day I had to get bold and confront myself:
“𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘢𝘮 𝘐 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘣𝘳𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘐 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘐 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘣𝘦 𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨?”

Turns out, I was doing the right things… 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝘼𝙪𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙋𝙝𝙖𝙨𝙚. 🙄

I thought I had a visibility problem but I actually had a phase problem.

I was trying to create Phase 3 results (𝘪𝘯𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘴, 𝘥𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘥, 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘺) while still operating with Phase 1 habits (𝘤𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘺, 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘹𝘵, 𝘮𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘨𝘢𝘱𝘴).

And once I understood what Authority Phase I was actually in, I cold change the outcome..

🏆 My confidence came back.
🏆 My messaging sharpened.
🏆 My lead flow increased.

𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗱𝗜𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗷𝗼𝗯… 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗿𝘂𝗻𝘄𝗮𝘆.

So tomorrow, we’re having the conversation I wish someone had with me years ago about this. Because too many brilliant coaches are working in the wrong phase and blaming themselves for the wrong things.

This weekend while grocery shopping with my husband, I overheard two women behind us talking about the government shutdown ending. 🛒

One said... “𝘐 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘐 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘯𝘦.”

Ouch! That hit me like a Mack truck. 🚛

Then I heard the other... “𝘐𝘵’𝘴 𝘴𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘤𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘸𝘦 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵.”

That's when I stopped reaching for the PayDay candy bar and told him... “𝘚𝘩𝘦’𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘸𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘨.”

It is scary, isn't it? 😬

That shutdown didn’t just break a record, it cracked open a truth.

👉 People had to take out loans for groceries... 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵-𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵?
👉 Families had to choose between rent and food... 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘬𝘪𝘥𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘦?
👉 Folks lined up at food banks who never imagined needing one... 𝘪𝘵 𝘨𝘰𝘵 𝘳𝘶𝘨𝘨𝘦𝘥!

Even though the government reopened, the fear and anxiety still lingers because something felt and experienced like this is not easily erased.

As we were driving home, I said “𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘺 𝘐 𝘱𝘶𝘴𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘣𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯 𝘈𝘶𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘉𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘰 𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘥.”

You see, life doesn’t warn you. Life just happens, and you either have a stability plan or you don’t.

Most people who have jumped into coaching or consulting don’t have that in place.

And honestly, when I first started out as a coach, I didn’t either. Nobody was there to actually tell me about building my Authority Brand and much less show how to do it. They were telling me a whole lot of other stuff, but not the stuff that mattered most.

I spent years posting and praying on all the "social media" platforms... Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, hoping and waiting on leads, clients and referrals like they’d fall from the sky... 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘴𝘭𝘰𝘸 𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘩 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘮𝘺 𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘱𝘴𝘦. 😣

But thank God for a good man (pun intended 😂)

He looked at me, smiled... and said “𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘺𝘰𝘶’𝘷𝘦 𝘣𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘵 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘥𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘶𝘱.”

That’s when it clicked...

Y'all, I live in Chicago. The city of snow and Al Capone, not coyotes.

Yea, the coyotes don't look too threatening in the pic.

They're just standing there... 𝘊𝘢𝘭𝘮... 𝘈𝘭𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵… 𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘮𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴. 😬

But danger rarely announces itself loudly, right.

It lurks and eases in quietly. Going unnoticed all too often.

Well, that just might be like your LinkedIn presence right now. 👀

You scroll, thinking everything’s fine.
You assume visibility will bounce back after the holidays... 𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘭 𝘉𝘈𝘔!

Your headline blurs, your offers fade, and your DMs stay silent. 😬

𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 → Compress all this until consistency becomes your default.

I thought the 𝗠𝗮𝗰𝘆’𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸𝘀𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 was going to be magical… 🤩

Instead, it felt like an episode of Survivor. 🤺

Years ago, my sister and I took a road trip from California and drove cross-country to spend Thanksgiving with friends on the East Coast.

And we thought… why not go to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade while we’re here?

Sounds dreamy, right? 🥰

Nope.

It was icy cold. 🥶

It was packed shoulder to shoulder. 😧

People were pushing, shoving, elbowing for a better view. 🫣

Kids were screaming. 😩

Adults were screaming. 😬

At one point it felt like a cat fight with snowballs disguised as confetti. 😲

I lasted maybe at most 20 minutes before ducking into a McDonald’s to defrost with a cup of hot cocoa... ☕
𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩, 𝘩𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘭𝘺, 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵. 😂

But here’s the funny thing about that experience…

For years, that parade reminded me of the chaos we get sucked into with all the “holiday hype.” 😏

🛑 Everyone is pushing.
🛑 Everyone is rushing.
🛑 Everyone is fighting for something they don’t actually want. 🙄

And the stuff that truly matters gets lost somewhere in all that noise and chaos.

But...

There is always an upside in those moments, 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘶𝘱 𝘰𝘧 𝘩𝘰𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘤𝘰𝘢. ☺️

Like...
🧡 The warmth.
🧡 The simplicity.
🧡 The clarity.

Those are the moments that ground you and you have to take them when you can and however way you can, even if it's just a cup of hot cocoa. 😋

That’s what Thanksgiving actually is for me now. 🦃

So in the spirit of the season this year...

Instead of adding to the noise I’m giving you the exact opposite of a chaotic, pushy Black Friday moment.

⚠️ No rushing.
⚠️ No shoving.
⚠️ No screaming.

𝗕𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝘆 𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗱𝗜𝗻 ≠ 𝗚𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗱𝗜𝗻. 😲

95% of leadership & executive coaches mistake busyness for business.

Stop spinning your wheels and follow these 9 steps so you can fill your calendar faster.

4️⃣ Your profile is not a résumé. It’s a sales page wearing 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝗿𝗺𝗼𝗿.
→ (Rewrite it until it says “𝘐’𝘮 𝘪𝘯 𝘥𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘥" not “I’m available”)

5️⃣ Content ≠ 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗶𝗮𝗿𝘆.
Content is your commercial. Each line in your post should elevate Positioning, Proof, or Perspective.
→ (If it does none of the three, delete it and start again.)

6️⃣ Vanity metrics feel good, but 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿.
Track three KPIs only: Profile Traffic, Engagement Quality, Conversion Flow = DM to Deal™.
→ (Quality > Quantity, every single day that ends in “y” 😉)

7️⃣ Comment like an 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆, not as amateur.
Level up your comments with Insights → Relationships → Invitations → Invoices.
→ (In that exact order 😊)

8️⃣ The fastest way to 𝟮𝘅 𝗶𝗻𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘀?
Talk to double the humans in half the time.
→ (Your Triad of Engagement™: Comments, Connections, Conversations.)

9️⃣ Consistency 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲.
Authority is built in public, interest is nurtured in private, deals are done in the DMs.
→ (Keep all three spinning or the flywheel dies.)

Remember these two things:
✅ Busy on LinkedIn ≠ Cash in your pocket.
✅ Do what matters, not what’s convenient.

So...
👉 Save this post.
👉 Read it every day.
👉 Implement one line per week.

So, I was scrolling through my DMs this morning (terrible habit, I know 🙄) and saw THREE different coaches all crying the blues and saying basically the same thing:

"𝘐 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘴... 𝘐 𝘥𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴... 𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨'𝘴 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘦..."

And honestly? It made my heart hurt a little. 🥹

Because here's what I'm seeing everywhere right now on LinkedIn.

Coaches and consultants stuck in the 𝗵𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗽 thinking that if they just...

👉 Post MORE... 
👉 Show up MORE...
👉 Hustle a bit HARDER...

Then something will magically happen. 🔮

But let me tell you, 2026 is the year of positioned #Authority, not more #Hustle ... (𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘺𝘦𝘴, 𝘐 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘩𝘢𝘴𝘩𝘵𝘢𝘨𝘴, 𝘪𝘵'𝘴 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘮𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨. 🤣)

I've been there. 

It was that season where I thought LinkedIn was broken... or I was broken... or SOMETHING was broken... because 𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘥𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 "𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵" 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘵𝘴.

Turns out I wasn't broken... LinkedIn wasn't broken... NOTHING was broken... 𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘥𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘗𝘩𝘢𝘴𝘦 3 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘪𝘯 𝘗𝘩𝘢𝘴𝘦 1. 😬

That was like trying to run a marathon when you haven't even mastered the skill of running around your own neighborhood block 3x. 🏃‍♀️‍➡️

But this is the dirty LinkedIn family secret nobody talks about? 🤫

Most of us are solving the wrong problems 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆, but wondering why we're on the verge of 𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝘁. 

❌ We're focusing on followers when we should be building systems.
❌ We're optimizing our captions when we should be clarifying our message.
❌ We're chasing algorithms when we should be creating predictable lead flow.

The coaches and consultants who are going to WIN in 2026? 

They're not the ones posting for the sake of posting 5x a day.

Okay so… last night I went to a masquerade birthday party for someone very dear to me, and LISTEN... your girl had fun. 💃🏽

The moment my friend called and invited me, I told her “𝘐’𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘯𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵.”

That’s commitment. And because of that commitment, I got to experience pure joy, old friends reuniting, new friendships started, gratitude, and life happening in real time. 😍

But I want you to get this one thing… none of it would’ve happened if I hadn’t made the commitment first. 🤔

There is power in making a commitment because:
👉 Commitment creates unforgettable moments.
👉 Commitment creates real relationships.
👉 Commitment creates lasting results.

But it also reminded me of something important.. you cannot get the full experience of anything without giving full commitment. 

𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘪𝘯 𝘣𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴, 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦, 𝘰𝘳 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘓𝘪𝘯𝘬𝘦𝘥𝘐𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘪𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵.

I committed to being there and because of that simple commitment, I experienced joy, connection, reconnection, and growth.

Everything good that happened was downstream of the commitment... “𝘐’𝘮 𝘪𝘯.”

Building your Authority Brand takes that type of commitment... “𝘐’𝘮 𝘪𝘯.”

→ They read.
→ They reflect.
→ They save posts.
→ They watch silently.
→ And they only reach out when something truly lands.

Observation Won’t Build Your Authority. Proximity Will.

This might surprise you…  😲

but most of the coaches I work with aren’t struggling because they’re not talented.

They’re struggling because they’re working in the 𝘄𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲. 🫣

I know this because I’ve lived in every phase myself. 🙄

When I first started building my Authority Brand on LinkedIn, I believed:

If I post more… If I engage more… If I show up more... things would take off. 😏

But this is what I got...
👉 BUSY
👉 INVISIBLE
👉 EXHAUSTED

Completely unaware that I was doing the right work, but in the wrong phase. 🙄

In a nutshell:
➡️ What grows your Authority in one phase will slow you down in another.
➡️ What feels productive may be the very thing holding you back.

Here's what I've discovered: 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘦𝘦 𝘈𝘶𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘗𝘩𝘢𝘴𝘦𝘴, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘤𝘰𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮.

𝗣𝗛𝗔𝗦𝗘 𝟭: 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘅𝘁 & 𝗠𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴
This is the foundation of your Authority.

✔️ You’re defining how the market should perceive you.
✔️ You’re shaping your positioning, sharpening your message, and making your expertise recognizable.

This phase isn’t about polish. It’s about precision and context because if people can’t instantly understand who you help, what you solve, and why it matters, nothing else moves the needle.

𝗣𝗛𝗔𝗦𝗘 𝟮: 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀, 𝗠𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗺 & 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 
This is where visibility turns into traction. 

But the frustration is real... You’re visible, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴.

Phase 2 requires:
✔️ A predictable content rhythm
✔️ An engagement system
✔️ A DM-to-Deal™ workflow
✔️ Consistent Authority signals

In this phase, consistency is currency and 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆. 💪

𝗣𝗛𝗔𝗦𝗘 𝟯: 𝗦𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲, 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝘄 & 𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲
This is where Authority becomes a pipeline.

✔️ You’re known.
✔️ You’re trusted.
✔️ Your systems are working.

Now the work shifts:
From effort → efficiency.
From creation → expansion.
From being visible → becoming in-demand.

This is where the R.O.I. of Lead Flow™ becomes essential!

👉 Referrals → Outbound (done right) → Inbound demand.

Here’s the BIGGEST mistake I see on LinkedIn:

❌ Coaches trying to operate in Phase 3 when they’re still in Phase 1.
❌ Coaches stuck in Phase 1 habits when they’re well into Phase 2.
❌ Coaches playing hopscotch across all Authority Phases.

👉 Wrong phase → Wrong effort → Wrong results.

If scrolling on Linkedin gives you a sense of anxiety.

If you start feeling behind.

Like you're not moving fast enough.

Stop scrolling the feed.

Sitting crouched over a device seeing other peoples wins & highlight reels isn't healthy.

Get a chrome extension and block it completely.

Most of the feed is trash anyways.

Instead, focus on creating.

Maybe once a week scroll a lil bit to see what's new.

But, for the most part.

Play your own game. In your own lane.

A time when a degree was your ticket to the good life.

So, when I told them I wasn't going.

Long-story short. A few years later. It all paid off.

My parents are proud of me now.

Lesson?

Bet on yourself.

I tell all my clients to stop posting valuable content.

It gets pushback sometimes, here's why:

Founders love to share "value".

But, value alone isn't enough to build a personal brand.

You don't want to be known as a robot that "runs ads" or "sends emails".

You want to be the expert that's relatable, has cool stories, goes through ups and downs. Has a life outside work. Inspires people. 

Sharing valuable content is 1 pillar of your strategy...

You also need to write about mistakes, lessons learned, regrets, your first job, your biggest personal win this year, your hobbies... All of a sudden you're connecting with people at an emotional level.

These topics reach more people and allow you to have more impact.

They reach prospects, potential partners, future employees and friends.

Yes, tactical content is great.

But, think about the bigger picture and long-term payoffs.

Share your story.

Posting on Linkedin = Trust at scale

Engaging with your ICP = Trust at less scale

Talking 1-1 in the DMs = High trust low scale

Now, imagine you do all 3 to your prospects.

First you post and show up on their feed...

Then, you show up in their comments...

Then, you start a natural/relevant conversation.

Imagine the trust you build BEFORE selling anything.

This is the power of social selling.

POWERFUL.

5 things I do to stay human and not write content that makes me sound like a lifeless AI robot:

- lowercase
- purposely misspell thingz
- use CAPITALS to make some words STAND OUT
- don't be a weirdo that forces everything to fit on one line and be perfectly formatted. just write & post valuable stuff.

Here's how to turn a "meh" campaign into a money-printer.

Step 1: Check the list 

. Are they the right titles? 
. Are they the right companies? 
. Are they active on LinkedIn? 

A good message can't save a bad list.

Step 2: Analyse your replies

. "I'm not in charge of this" replies = list problem 
. "No thanks" replies = offer problem

The replies will show you how to optimize.

Don't get mad, all data is good data.

3: Ask warm leads: 

→ Why did you respond? 
→ What stood out to you the most?

Use their answers to sharpen your scripts.

Step 4: Split test

Focus on the main needle movers:

- Offer
- List

Now, watch how all the metrics start to RISE.

5 ways to prove you're not sending DMs with AI.

1/ Purposely leave typos in someyimes

2/ No big paragraphs, talk like you’re on whatsapp.

Instead of this:

"fdfbhjzkgdkzbmldkbghjsjfljsfzdjngszhbmvhdfsjfvbfzsfbshfzvfsvbdfbhvbdfhhvdfhgdffsfdnfbdhsfjdfhdrfbsdhfbhjsfhsdbf."

Do this:

"split your messages up

Kinda like this

got it?"

3/ Voicenotes & video DMs

Personally I don't open up convos with these but maybe after 1-2 back and forths, I'll send a VN or video DM follow up.

If you come across confident and warm in these, you can build a lot of trust very quickly.

4/ Comment on their posts

If the person you're DM'ing posts content, leave genuine comments on posts before reaching out.

This'll build familiarity before messaging.

P.S. Don’t end your message, with “best regards”. This is not an email brother.

Social selling isn't just uploading a list and spamming DMs.

There's nuance.

Over time, I've figured out these small things that give you an extra 5-10% 

- Like a 5-10% increase in follow-up response rate.
- Or, a 20% increase in booking rate.
- Or, a 15% increase in connection acceptance

These small shifts make a huge difference.

One example of this is strategic comments.

Here's 2 formulas I recommend:

1/ Pre-conversation/connection stage:

Comment - Comment - Connect - WAIT - DM

2/ During conversation:

DM - Comment - Comment - WAIT - Follow up

Make comments part of your outbound strategy to help stay top of mind, add more value and ultimately persuade prospects that YOU are guy to solve their problems.

It just works.

Commenting on LinkedIn is the most underrated sales tactic of 2025 and has helped me close MULTIPLE b2b deals this year...

Think about this…

Your prospects are posting content right now or people from their team are… 

And, guess what?

Their content probably doesn't get much engagement.

So, when you are the ONE person that shows up in their world.

Leaves a genuinely good comment under their post, they WILL see you.

It's such an easy way to follow-up or warm-up prospects without coming across salesy at all.

These comments lead to conversations.

Conversations lead to sales.

It all starts with a comment.

A lot of founders want to add Linkedin content into their lead-gen strategy. But, they fail 99% of the time because they forget one thing...

Content is just one piece of the puzzle.

You also need to:

- Comment & engage with ur community
- Comment & engage with your ICP
- Connect with your ICP daily
- Talk to your ICP consitently
- Monitor your profile views
- Have a process which turns all of the engagement you're getting from content into things you can measure. Booked calls. Closed deals.

Content is authority building. It's brand awareness.

But, without committing to building your social selling strategy alongside the content.

You're just another "post and hope" merchant.
