41% of graduates don’t feel confident entering the workplace, speaking to seniors and are anxious around their ability to achieve their aspirations. I am passionate about changing this because I believe everyone should feel confident, inspired, and empowered to innovate and reach their full potential.

In the past 24 months, I’ve delivered keynotes and presentations in 7 countries. I’ve also published a best-selling book, rocked the TEDx stage (twice!) and grown my YouTube channel to over 14,000 subscribers. All of which I use to empower young people with the personal development tools they need to step into the world of work or business with confidence.

Cel Amade

I'm a sustainability expert with significant academic leadership experience as head of department and practical experience as sustainability consultant having spent a sabbatical year in industry working on climate and other environmental and social sustainability topics, including EDI matters.

In 2021 I introduced Carbon Literacy Training to Royal Holloway, together with colleagues from across the college, and have since trained hundreds of participants internally and externally, working with academics, professional services staff, students, theatre professionals, church leaders and NGOs to equip and empower people to take climate action. In 2025 I became a certified Carbon Literacy Training and helped Royal Holloway achieve Bronze status as Carbon Literate Educator.

I'm a committed, diligent and energetic professional with leadership, teaching, scholarship and external engagement experience, interested in sustainability, business and politics (e.g. Responsible Management, Environmental Regulations, Automotive Industry, Global Economy, International Business and Strategy). My experience is international (Germany, Norway, UK, US, Belgium/Brussels). My external engagement revolves around environmental sustainability, in particular Carbon Literacy Training and climate solutions. In this capacity, I have offered pro bono consultancy services.

From 2019 to 2023 I was the Head of the Strategy, International Business and Entrepreneurship Department. Previously, I was involved in Admissions for three years and have enjoyed working with colleagues to develop a Sustainability/Corporate Responsibility pathway for BSc Management students. I've also been involved in the distance learning programme (University of London Worldwide, BSc Business Administration) as chair of the exam board.

Outside of work, I completed my first half marathon in 2010 and ran my first marathon in 2011 to mark the end of the marathon that was the PhD. In 2012 I ran the Great South Run (10 miles) to raise money for Cancer Research UK. In 2015 I ran the London Marathon to raise over £2,000 for The Children's Society. I completed my third (and final) Marathon in 2019 and recently started volunteering at my local parkrun. I enjoy singing, playing piano and football and cycling - I'm a committed bicycle commuter.
