LinkedIn has changed quietly and founders, CEO’s & VC’s are paying for it.

It is true that LinkedIn used to be mostly a Job searching platform few years ago.

But now, it has completely evolved and has become one of the most active business -related thought leadership platform.

Here’s the 5 data points which prove it: 

( it also explains why most of the leaders are posting like it’s 2018 & feel invisible today )

1. Posts per user on LinkedIn have increased by ~41% since 2021.

2. Founder-led content now gets ~2.7x more trust than brand posts ( which means people trust people more )

3. Long-form posts are up 38%, but average attention span is down ( which means the depth matters more ) 

4. Thought-leadership content drives 4x more quality deal-flow. But only 17% of leadership content is rated “excellent.” So the bar has risen significantly.

5. Algorithms now boost clarity of POV over frequency. That means you can’t hide behind “updates” anymore.

In short, the platform has gotten kind of harder for ‘generic’ content & mere company updates. 

Instead, t rewards people who can differentiate themselves and manifest their leadership with their 

- POV’s, 
- ideas, 
- stories, 
- opinions 
- lived experiences
- And category insights

Something funny happens in your early 20s.

People tell you, “Relax, you’re young, you have plenty of time.”

But the same people also expect you to be stable, smart, strategic, and independent… 

And that too immediately. I mean seriously 🙂? 

To be fair, It’s an odd contradiction to me.

In theory, You’re given time.

But in practice,

If you take things slow, you’re “unserious.”

If you move fast, you’re “rushing.”

If you experiment, you’re “confused.”

If you commit, you’re “too young to decide.”

Different people. Different opinions.

Honestly, being 24, I’ve become more rigid lately and simply move at the pace that makes sense for the responsibilities I want.

Moreover, In my view: 

Time is simply an asset and how you allocate it depends on your priorities, instead of your age.

Being young doesn’t automatically give you freedom.

Rather, You create freedom through your decisions.

The earlier you learn that, the easier life becomes. Or that’s thats how I see it at least.

Anyone in 20’s here ? Has anyone ever told you “you have time” in a way that confused you more than it helped?

Branson’s narrative hasn’t changed in 42 years.

( that’s precisely why it works )

When he started, his competitors had more money, planes, and infrastructure. 

All he had was a story the market wanted to believe in.

And instead of just throwing it around randomly,

he built an archetype and a narrative around his story.

That’s why people see him as larger than life today.

Also, for this very reason Narratives beat tactics.

They remain timeless.

I see so many founders & CEO’s falling in the trap of sharing tactical wins and updates only.

( Dont get me wrong, that’s great and fine for the short term )

But if you want to dominate your category then you’ve to build meta-narratives about 

- what you represent & 
- why you exist

Also, you need to share your ideas,vision POV’s and opinions around that.

That doesn’t age and this is what creates huge personal brands like Richard and Steve Jobs. 

People can agree or disagree with their ideas and opinions. 

But all of them acknowledge their place in the market.

That’s how you know it’s working 🤍

P.S: When was the last time you shared an idea/POV/opinion with your network?

I reviewed 50+ founders & CEO’s ( from $500k - $500M+ ARR ) LinkedIn profiles in Oct-Nov 2025. 

Here’s the few of common patterns I noticed:

I’ll divide this into 3 groups based on how they’re positioned in their respective industries.

( Important: each pattern reflects a specific mindset )

1. Under-positioned ( early-stage/ Pre-Series A ) 

Mindset: “ Our product will eventually speak for itself.”

 Common patterns: 

- Most of the leaders in this category post inconsistently and that too only after achieving a milestone 

- There is no clear POV or narrative 

-  Mostly share updates and activities once or twice in a month or so

- Rely on ‘organic luck’ rather than strategic positioning 


2. Competent but replaceable Founders & CEO’s (Series A–B)

Mindset: “I know I should build a personal brand, but I’m too busy.”

Common patterns: 

- Most of them are consistent in content but there isn’t much differentiation in category

- Mostly share generic leadership lessons and just reshare industry news without adding their own POV to it

- Lack of a personal story or mission


3. Category-Leading Founders (Series B+ / $20M–$200M+ ARR)

Common patterns:

- Clear POV rooted in their domain insight

- Strong founder narrative (mission → struggle → conviction → direction)

- Posts are divided into opinions, POV’s , ideas and activities 

- They educate the market more than they document their activities

Example: Roland busch ( CEO siemens )

To sum this up: 

The real gap between under-positioned founders and category leaders is of clarity, identity, narrative, and market positioning.

And the content only actively shapes the perception of their audience around what a founder/CEO already believes in.

P.S: One strong POV builds more authority than 30 days of generic posting. Isn’t it?

As a founder/CEO/VC, if you struggle to scale your credibility and seek ‘quality’ inbound flow, here’s the 6- step blueprint you can apply to fix it:

Here we go…

1. Clarify your strategic intent. 

The simplest way of doing that is:

Create a one line sentence on ‘why’ of your business.

For example: I started this venture for [ x ] problem which [ y ] group of people face because [ z ] matters. 

2. Identify and define your key reputation anchors 

For example: your pattern-recognition, your worldview, your asymmetric advantage, your operating philosophy etc.

3. Identify the “emotional base” of your market.

Every high-value market fundamentaly runs on some emotions. 

So pinpoint 3 key emotions which [ y ] group of people face as a result of the pain you aspire to target.

For example: uncertainty, high-stakes decision fatigue, loss of identity during scaling etc.

5. Now build a 5-angle founder/CEO narrative around those emotions. 

i) The problem → Why your target audience feels that negative emotion & why you see it that way 

ii) Your implementation logic → Why it prompted you to target it 

iii) Your execution philosophy → How you turn that negative emotion into positive one 

iv) The background/context of your entire process → updates, activities etc. 

v) Your opinion/ POV/ideas → What’s wrong or the things that need to change in that industry 

6. Choose one key distribution channel to share your narrative and go all-in ( For example: LinkedIn, as it has all the stakeholders you need in your audience ). 

There you go.

Once you complete this chain of steps, you got all the ingredients which make key stakeholders see you as a credible and trustworthy person to work/invest/buy with/from.

Now the only thing that has left is the implementation of it.

And that depends on how much you want it to happen.
