During the Global Blockchain Show in Abu Dhabi I shared my perspective on how I view gaming as infrastructure. The virtual worlds built through engines like Unity and Unreal are not just experiences. They are the base layer of a new digital economy.

As we move beyond smartphones into wearables and smart glasses, the virtual layer will expand into our physical world. That shift could unlock an entirely new virtual GDP, and Web3 and blockchain may play a critical role in enabling trust and financing this next evolution.

Gaming is no longer just play. It may be the backbone of what comes next.

I am a game designer, futurist, and educator with over 20 years of experience developing learning games and immersive educational experiences. I work at the intersection of game design, futures thinking, and educational innovation, creating solutions that engage, inspire, and transform how people learn and have fun.

As founder and CEO of D+1 Design & Jogos, I have led award-winning projects that have impacted over 4 million people in Brazil and Latin America. I have developed board games, card games, digital games, and gamified systems focused on education, sustainability, innovation, and social transformation.

I have a Master's in Design from CESAR School and am currently a PhD candidate in Systems and Computer Engineering at UFRJ. My research investigates “Foresight Games” as a new subgenre of educational games aimed at developing literacy for the future, helping people deal with uncertainty and complexity through games.
