I am a huge nerd. The world of science fiction and technology drew me in at a young age to both my joy and the dismay of my parents' bank accounts. After 5 years in the world of oil & gas, my love of all things "techy" eventually led me to several business operations roles. 

Learning the nuances of often complex processes, business operations & contracting systems is something that always entertains me. Breaking them down and improving them, doubly so. However, getting to know and lead the people behind these often opaque operations & process systems has always been the most rewarding aspect of my career.

When I'm not working, I am usually with my wife and two kids. I love to cook, play video games, while away the time watching movies and travelling when I can. I also collect swords and other collectibles (still a kid at heart).

Key learnings? I suppose I an share a thing or two:

1. AI redlining is becoming a lot more normalized (it’s like a little paralegal hiding out in the margins of your contract) but AI cannot make you easier to do business with if your positions are onerous and one-sided

2. Addressing tariffs in contracts keep coming up. Whether is the fire drill to assess risk in existing contracts or to identify/insert language during negotiations. 

3. Some teams using AI are struggling to show clear ROI (no I’m not talking about the MIT report) part of it is that they weren’t tracking performance data well pre-implementation and part of it is they are looking to vendors to help them truly demonstrate time savings.
