In 2012, I completed 15 years in the corporate world.

The Power of Showing Up the Same Way Every Time

“𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘮𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘬𝘴.
𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦.”

He said it softly. But it landed hard.
He was not angry. Just tired.

Tired of being the fixer. Not the thinker.
The hands. Not the mind.
The doer. Not the driver.

And that’s the quiet pain many experts live with.

They carry businesses on their back.
They solve the toughest problems.
They save the day again and again.

But they’re never seen as the one who shapes the future.

𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝗰𝗮𝗴𝗲.

So we made one shift.

We stopped showing 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 he does.
We started showing 𝘩𝘰𝘸 he thinks.

One proof story a week.
One sharp viewpoint.
One idea that changes how others see the problem.

No shouting.
No big volume.
Just visible thinking.

Eight weeks later, he messaged:

I worked 14–16 hours every day and still felt like I was moving backwards.
Everyone around me thought I was making a mistake.
Some even stopped talking to me.
I began to doubt myself too.

Then one day, I called my former boss.
I just needed to talk to someone.
He said something simple:

“𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘢 𝘥𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦.
𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘧𝘦𝘢𝘳.”

He wasn’t from my niche.
He couldn’t teach me business.
He couldn’t even open doors for me.

But he gave me something far more powerful.

Belief.

Honest, quiet, unwavering belief when I had none left.
That belief carried me through days that felt endless and nights that felt heavy.

It pushed me to write my first book.
That book changed everything.
Coaching requests.
More books.
Clients.
A new life built from scratch.

All because one person said:
“I see something in you. Don’t stop now.”

Today, I try to offer that belief to people who need it.

Because belief is oxygen in rooms where dreams almost suffocate.

Henry Ford once said: 
“Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right.”

Sometimes all you need is someone who thinks you can.
If you’re in that season now, this is for you.

Stay.
Hold your ground.
Don’t walk away from the story you’re meant to finish.

You’re closer than you think.

This is how authority compounds.

Quiet work. Public result.

𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗳𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, the book.

Ivan Polic and Mariana Polic didn’t write it to “launch” it.
They treated it like a long-term asset.

They solved the biggest problem of business today:
𝘍𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘋𝘦𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦.

From day one, the commitment was clear.
Write something transformational.
Even if it takes longer.

They didn’t protect early drafts.
They shared them.
With real beta readers.
And invited honest feedback.

Some chapters were uncomfortable to revisit.
Some ideas didn’t survive scrutiny.
Many pages were rewritten more than once.

Just steady, disciplined work.
Mostly invisible.
Completely intentional.

The public result came later.

- 𝗔 #𝟭 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝘁.
- 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗱-𝗼𝗳-𝗺𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆.
- 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝟱-𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄𝘀.

Not as validation.
As a signal.

That’s the work.
That’s the game.

And they're just getting started.

My latest client book hit #1 category best seller spot in 2 days. And yet, it's just one of the side-results - the intent to help is the cause.

There were weeks I couldn't write a word.

I'd open the notepad…
stare at the blank page…
and close it again.

Not because I didn’t know what to say.
But because doubt was louder than clarity.

“What if this isn’t good enough?”
“What if no one cares?”
“What if I’m wrong?”

I thought once I became “good,” the doubt would vanish.

But it never did.

Even after self-publishing books,
even after helping experts build brands,
that voice still shows up.

Use Inbound Authority Framework for your branding in 2026.

The first mistake new authors make.

They start writing before deciding the 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘦.

In 12 years, I've see this most often.

Smart people. Strong passion.
Genuine intent. Enviable knowledge.

They open a document.
And just start typing.
It feels productive. 
It’s not.

Writing is execution.
𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸'𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆.

A book succeeds when one sentence is clear.

𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘬:
- 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱𝘴 𝘦𝘹𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘭𝘺 𝘸𝘩𝘰,
- 𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘷𝘦 𝘦𝘹𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘭𝘺 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘮,
- 𝘴𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘦𝘹𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘭𝘺 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦.

That sentence does three things for you:

- Focuses your research
- Filters what stays out (no bloat)
- Increases the odds of book's success

That promise does three things for your reader:

- Answers their WIIFM* question
- Helps them see their win
- Nudges them to buy
(* 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵'𝘴 𝘐𝘯 𝘐𝘵 𝘍𝘰𝘳 𝘔𝘦)

Without the promise, writing becomes noise.
With it, every word earns its place.

I’ve watched this pattern repeat.
Across first books.
Across smart experts.

The authors who pause here always finish stronger.
The ones who skip it, most likely, rewrite later.

Slow down first.
Decide your book's promise.
You'll find that the book gets written. :)
