My buddy posted this picture yesterday.


It was his alive day.

I don't have a picture of mine but it made me rewind time and contemplate just how precious life can be.

For military guys it's the day they look back and realize they should be dead.

I remember joking with him he was harder to kill than Steven Segal (#geriatricmillenial reference).  

We can be kind of dark with the humor.

In many ways it's a coping mechanism.

At 20 years old it was just another day.  So many IEDs and mortars tore up a lot of our vehicles and hurt our Marines.

Why am I posting this?

Mental Health is no joke.  I don't spend much time posting on it but it's something I am passionate about.

I spent 3 years of my life working with the Wounded Warrior Regiment .  I have seen the power Stellate Ganglion Block (#SGB), Psilocybin, and Ketamine treatments.  

Sadly I had to get outside help for my Marines.  It wasn't something the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs would touch at the time.  

I hear that may be changing.....

Sherry Rais, Sims Tillirson, and John Troutman 🧪  are folks that are helping bring real solutions and services to the employee benefit market.  

If you're a veteran that has friends that are struggling I know they would pick up the phone and help.

When in doubt - Be kind today.  You never know what someone is going through.

let me explain to you why your insurance is so awesome.....

......now I spend most open enrollment meetings teaching employees why using insurance is often a terrible way to pay for healthcare.

.... why traditional deductibles are silly

whole room stayed an extra hour to ask questions.

the truth will set you free.

Now it's my favorite part.

Where were you?


Me... I was 🏂 the gnar at Vail Resorts 

I remember it as one of the best days in my life.....

....... until they shut down the mountain.

The National Basketball Association (NBA) shut down.

I didn't fully understand what was going on.  I was just pissed to lose a day of my trip.

the friends I went with spent the night at a karaoke  🍻 literally partying like the world was going to end.

it did end.  

this 🌎 is no longer the same

my career, my business, people's trust,  hope....

but it's also why zoom became a thing, it's why I started posting on this platform, and was the foundation of people no longer trusting our institutions for healthcare decisions.

Independent thinking was born 6 years ago. 

 Maybe it's what we needed.
