Heading up the design at Motokiki, the UK's new tyre comparison site. Covering all aspects of the company's design: brand, UX, UI, typography, iconography, print, signage.

As the lead designer, I designed everything at Motokiki from scratch, both UX and UI: The logo, brand, corporate identity, website, user flow, user interactions, and the entire customer journey. I also designed all the internal and external signage, video-editing, social media posts and digital and print collateral.

Anneka invited Natasha & I to beautiful
North Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 and we spent Saturday
exploring aquaducts, climbing up trees
and hiking up hillls to see castle ruins. 

We even got a pasty and some fudge.

There were team building activities too,
and you’ll see the hilarious videos soon!

We work so hard growing the audiences
of our clients during the week, it was nice 
to switch our brains off for a day to just 
enjoy the simple beauty surrounding us.

This quote hits hard because it’s TRUE.
I’ve seen it happen time and time again.

Every time something worth it is HARD,
we can either give up or power through.

It’s a test that nearly all of us fail at.
Most of us stop when it gets hard.
(get your mind out the gutter Anneka)

But if you have the courage to
focus on your goals, push through
and keep going when it gets hardest?


You win. BIG.


Think of a plane taking off. It burns
the most fuel fighting against gravity.

Or a miner striking rocks over & over…
the pickaxe gets heavier each swing.

Remind yourself of your vision.
And you won’t give up when
you’re about to strike gold!

tastes like pisswater. And our Yankee
friends think #British beer is all… warm.

But in The Manatee & Turnip, we’d
only serve #beer and cider that’s at
least 6%, ice cold and full-flavoured.


But why create a pub at all?


Cos pubs are where the sh!t hits the
fan, and where the most successful
business of the future are written
on napkins, and where the best
stories are born and then told!


We’d make “telling a drunken story”
the price of admission. If you order
a pint the normal way, it’ll be a fiver.

But if you order a pint by telling us
your story, you'll get it for 2 quid!

We’re all sick of pints being over
a fiver… Let’s go back to a simpler
time when a tenner would get you a
round AND you’d bring back change!

We’ll encourage creative storytelling
and all of your drunken shenanigans!


In this fusion of British and American
culture, you’d walk in and find a room
full of marketers arguing about fonts,
pitching ideas for tea-infused pale ale,
and us debating whether we should
serve crisps in a silver-plated helmet.
(yes, of course we bloody should)


That’s what happens when two creative

collide over a shared love of honesty,
chaos, and stories that make you FEEL.

My parents told me what I was supposed to be.


“Don’t be an actor Jack. Most fail.”
“Learn a trade. Carpentry. Plumber.”
“Have something to fall back on.”

“fall back on”.

As if I was always going to fail, so
I’d need a backup plan from day 1.

You probably heard something similar:

Be a Doctor.
Be a Lawyer.
Be something “sensible.”

And you didn’t listen.
You did your own thing.
You carved your own way.
You’re now someone different.

And I’m here to say, with all my heart:
Nice one! Congratulations! Seriously!

You shrugged off their expectations
and created something truly YOURS.

But there’s a problem.
You don’t sound like you ONLINE.

Your content doesn’t feel like you.
It still sounds like the professional
doctor, lawyer, or ‘sensible’ person.

Why are you posting just the polished
version of yourself? The tidy version?

You’ve got stories with fire in them,
but you’re writing like a brochure.

Stripping the feeling out of your
story because you think it’ll
make you more “sellable.”

I’ve got some grade A advice:
You’re not here to be sellable.

You’re here to be YOU.
Have your own voice.

Because THAT’s what people buy.
Not the edited ‘brochure’ version.
But the real, authentic YOU of you.

Even if it’s messy. Or even emotional.
Even if someone from your old job
sees it and goes “Wow. Bit much.”

→ Be a bit much.
→ Be too much.
→ Be YOU.

Because no one ever stood out by
sounding like the version of themselves
that made other people “comfortable”.

For example. Last week, I put out
a photo with my face on a sheep.
Which booked two new clients.

Being weird, works.
Being you, sells.

This is not my car.



I was walking past it and thought:
“Wow, what a car. I’d love to own it”


Then I thought:
"Actually, no." “Because it’s not me.”


I'm sick of the fake online “gurus”.
You know the ones. They rent a car
like this and pretend it’s their own.


I’m sick of seeing posts like this:


→ Rented supercar (usually a Lambo)
→ Fake Rolex & designer label clothes
→ Caption: "I made £100k in 30 days"
→ Post: “Buy my £4,997 course”

And thousands of people fall for it.
They see the car and think: "If I buy
their course, I'll get that lifestyle."

But it’s all FAKE. He made his £100k
on 20 people buying his £5k course.

The fact is, most "millionaire mentors"
can't afford the car they're stood by.

They rent it for a day. Shoot 50 posts.
Then return it and go back to their flat.


WE NEED AUTHENTICITY
NOW MORE THAN EVER.


Real people showing up as they are.
Admitting they're not millionaires.
Sharing their ACTUAL journey.
Like I do every day on here.

Relatability beats pretend wealth.

And honestly… it’s the most accurate
thing anyone said on LinkedIn all year.

Because honestly:

Your glossy “personal brand”? DEAD.
Your polished LinkedIn posts? BORING.
Your perfect story? Nobody believes it.


STOP showing up like some beige robot.


Your readers are numb.
Your readers are yawning.
Nobody gives a sh!t about
what you’re pushing on them.

Throw your sales pitch in the bin.
Burn your fake vulnerability posts.
And for f**k’s sake, stop polishing
every sharp edge off your story.

Because all that “perfection”?
It’s a mask. It’s plastic. It’s fake.

I'm scared of one thing.



I’m always talking about vulnerability.

How, if used properly, it’s a strength.

So I’m gonna be vulnerable with you:

won’t open up to my team.”



Wait, what?
Not spiders, ghosts, or nuclear war?

I mean, sure. On an indirect level.
But I built my brand to be honest,
engaging, authentic and a bit fun…

Because that’s what we want
clients to experience with us!

We want to help them deliver
their raw story to the world.


And we can’t help them tell the best
stories, if they aren’t honest with us.


That’s why I’m in a pumpkin, and

A few weeks ago, I had the genuine

Running a business is BUSY.



I guess that’s why it’s spelled ‘busyness’
But after running Storytold™ for 9 months,
I know I need to make a serious change.

I can’t keep going at 130% capacity.
Working 14 hour days. I just can’t.

I’m booking so many meetings,
having so much time blocked for
our creative work and feedback,
and I’m working IN the business.

But I need to look long-term.
And to work ON the business.

So I’m shedding the old freelancer
mindset of “I gotta do everything”

I’m giving more responsibilities
to my amazing team, who are
making me proud every day.

I’m poking my head above the trees to
see how to grow Storytold™ long-term

What we do, works. Too well, if anything.
But the way I run my business is always

But what the hell is "value"?

It ISN’T a strategy.
It ISN’T a growth hack.
It ISN’T a content calendar.

It’s helping, without expecting a reward.

It's helping, without checking if

Value can be shared in 2 ways:


Emotional: Sharing vulnerability from
a place of authority, that make people
realise “huh, that happened to me too.
Maybe I’m not alone after all.”


Practical: Real guidance, that solves
real problems. Expertise that saves
them time. Insights they can use now.


Me? I haven’t “made it”.
I'm not an ‘exited’ gajillionaire.
I’m making this sh!t up as I go.


But I’m also learning every day & working
harder than anyone else for my clients.
