“The only reason to invite you in any DM is so I can bang you. That’s it.”

He’s looking at my work and announcing this has no value, you have no value. That’s it.

He’s doing it publicly, where everyone can see him attempting to erase my professional existence.

That’s violence.

Edit: Amazon are investigating and have assured me that if this person does work for them it will be dealt with. It's worth noting that he may not even be employed by them as you can say you work for whoever you like on LinkedIn.

I see trend this with my best performing posts.

The first comments come in, then people start replying to each other. 

When your audience starts having conversations with each other in your comments section, not just responding to you, but amongst themselves, that’s when LinkedIn really pays attention.

It signals that your post isn’t just generating one time reactions. People are staying on the platform, reading through comments, responding to others.

It shows that the post is a real conversation starter. 

You can’t force this, but you can encourage it. When someone leaves a thoughtful comment, reply in a way that invites others to weigh in.

“That’s really interesting, I wonder if other people have the same experience?”

The goal isn’t just to get comments on your post. It’s to create a space where your audience engages with each other.

That’s when a post becomes more than just content. Conversations keep people on the platform longer than anything else.

Many CEOs post the same things on LinkedIn...

Announcements, testimonials, and industry insights. Those posts do exactly what they're supposed to, they reinforce credibility with people who already know you.

That shouldn't be your entire content strategy.

When only your competitors and existing clients engage with your content, you're stuck in a loop. Your reach drops because the same audience keeps seeing the same type of content.

One of my clients posted a company update - 19 reactions, 2 comments, 2 profile views.
The same CEO posted about a leadership challenge - 224 reactions, 50 comments, 408 profile views, 28 new followers.

When someone comments on your post, their connections see it. Which means if you can connect with a bigger pool of people, you can find the people you're looking for in their audiences too.

Regardless of industry, we all have things in common. We're parents juggling during school holidays, leaders dealing with difficult conversations. Business owners trying to sleep at night despite the anxiety.

Content that acknowledges that, while still being relevant, makes you memorable to people who might never have found you otherwise.

These people are in someone else's network, relating to someone else's post about leadership, growth, or just being human in business.

Make yourself more relatable to a broader audience, and you'll find your specific people faster.

The algorithm isn't designed to be fair.
LinkedIn is a for profit company, not a public service.

Roughly 15-18% of users pay for premium and the other 80% plus use it for free. That means a huge chunk of LinkedIn's revenue comes from advertising.

Engaged users = more time on the platform = more ads viewed. So they prioritise content that keeps people scrolling.

Fair reach for everyone doesn't work.

On average only 1% of LinkedIn users post weekly, but that’s still potentially 1-2 million posts per day. The average time spent on here per user is 51 minutes a month, so there's simply not enough time or attention to go around.

The platform has to curate.

It responds to what users choose to engage with, it doesn't force anyone to care about your content.

You're not entitled to reach just because you posted.

Stop relying solely on the algorithm.

Build relationships before you need them, engage genuinely with other people's content and have real conversations in DMs.

It can feel like shouting into the void, but that's the tax almost everyone pays at some point.

You can spend your energy being frustrated that the system isn't fair, or you can learn how to work around it.
