I was up at 4:30 this morning. 
On purpose. 

I view Saturday mornings like any other morning- 4:30 wake up call to go to the gym. 

I do this for two reasons:
1. It forces me to go to bed on time. 
2. It allows me to have taken care of myself before the wife and baby are even awake. 

This means I have more quality time with the family throughout the day and can be more present. 

Also, the gym at that time on a Saturday just hits different. 

Especially when you hit a PR on the belt squat.

As a Broncos fan, I can definitively say:


They are the worst best team in the NFL. 

That is all.

4:20am. 
Alarm ringing. 
I quickly turn it off and jump out of bed, excited. 

This day, however, I didn’t put on my gym clothes. 
I didn’t mix my preworkout. 
I didn’t put on gym shoes. 

Instead, I threw on a tee & sweats, grabbed an energy drink & water bottle, and headed to my office. 

Then turned on my Xbox. 


For the past 4 weeks, I had attempted to get up at 4:20am to go to the gym. I failed 75% of the time. Most of the times I made it was the first week. 

Motivation was gone. 

The bed was comfy. 

Nothing was working. 

So I changed the motivation. 


I’ve been a gamer since I was a kid. Halo parties. Getting lost in the Fallout world. Getting headshots in Call of Duty. 

These were the good ol days. 

I brought them back to bring back the motivation to get up early. 

It was unorthodox, but it worked. 

My body finally adjusted to the new normal. I started to get tired earlier. I slept deeper. I stopped hitting the snooze. 

Then I replaced the gaming with the gym. 

And the habit of waking up early stuck. 


I’m not saying everyone should game at 4:20am. But I am saying to do something that does motivate you to wake up that early if the gym motivation has left. 

Waking up early is hard. 

It’s easier when you’re excited to wake up.

This weekend, I had a post about protein pop-tarts go a bit crazy. 

It asked if we had gone too far.

This, however, is a “protein-added” product that isn’t too far and is 100% worth it. 

The wife and I split a box every Sunday for lunch. And we both look forward to it. 

No difference in taste or texture from the normal Annie’s Mac & Cheese. 

Since we split a box, we both get around 18g of protein AND 7.5g of fiber. 

Is it that much more of each than the original? Not a crazy amount. But since the taste isn’t impacted and the added fiber comes with it, I think it’s worth it.

My revenue grew 3x year over year even as impressions fell and I dropped outreach.

"Consistency” shouldn’t be a coverup for laziness. 

If you are posting consistently but you aren’t: 

-Consistently commenting
-Consistently networking
-Consistently testing new content
-Consistently becoming a better writer
-Consistently growing your business skills…

Then you aren’t being “Consistent”, you are simply using a buzzword to explain your lack of growth. 

P.S. The same goes for job seekers who “Auto Apply” to 10 jobs everyday.

Many top creators don’t fully understand what made them blow up, yet they try to sell a “formula” to others. 

Usually it’s an AI strategy that sounds good in theory... but has nothing to do with what actually made them successful in the first place. 

In that case you are better off buying a similar strategy from a smaller creator who actually knows what they are talking about (And the offer is often more affordable to boot)

Just a reminder that sometimes really smart people aren’t able to teach others effectively.
