I spent more than a decade in as a mechanical engineer working in product design and development in the outdoor industry. It was a great place to start, but over time I realized the part of engineering I loved most wasn’t engineering at all. I loved the challenge of turning ideas into something real, whether that meant a physical product or a visual story.

A mentor early in my career (thank you Jay Muse) helped me recognize what was really going on: I wasn’t just an engineer. I was a creative who happened to start on the technical side.

So I followed that pull. Nights and weekends became a crash-course in Adobe Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Lightroom, KeyShot, Blender, and everything else I could get my hands on. What began as "playing around" turned into a full-blown second skillset in brand design, content creation, video production, and web design.

Eventually I made the jump. I stepped away from engineering and built Stokeship, the creative agency where all of these skills finally work together. Today I help small and medium-sized companies launch, polish, or overhaul their brands through a mix of strategy, identity, creative production, and whatever else it takes to move the needle (including the occasional engineering project).
