Founder

Hydro-Vac, Inc.

HVI has been a family-owned and operated company since 2001. In 2020, Caleb stepped in on a truck and worked part-time at night and on the weekends to learn what it took to run the company from an operational and business standpoint. Caleb has started and sold his small businesses, so his experience as a young entrepreneur transfers over to his role at HVI.

- Caleb oversees ongoing business operations within the company. 
- Jobsite crews and office staff report directly to Caleb. 
- Caleb is reporting directly to the CEO.

Currently, Caleb oversees close to 20 employees and 7 service crews.

Chief Operating Officer

- Directing the day to day operations. 
- Directing 6-7 crews, fleet vehicles, and managing 12-14 people.
- Online job bidding and estimating. Proficient in several construction softwares.
- Fielding all company / customer calls and emails.
- Assisting in recruiting new employees, fielding resumes to the CEO
- Running advertising ads across platforms. 
Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, and web platforms.
- Overseeing the Hydro Excavation division; invoicing, billing, vendors, and health & safety program.
- Daily, weekly, and quarterly reports for various organizations. Such as DOT, FMSCA, and various Unions.

—— ACHIEVEMENTS ——
- In 4 months, I have assisted in hiring, onboarding, and training 2 full-time crews. 
- Bringing in an additional 50-100k gross per month. 

- In 6 months, I completely took over bidding/estimating. 
- Largely contributing to the 400% increase in net income for the company.

Moving from Corporate America to founding a nonprofit was the best professional move I could have made. My gratitude to my former employers who taught me what I needed to know about managing a business and clientele, which has allowed me to bring a unique leadership quality to the work of Fortitude. This is the beginning of the very best part of my career!

There is an energy at Fortitude that is undeniable. We welcome young adults who do not have a clear path to success. They stand at the threshold of adulthood, recognizing that they don’t have the experience or opportunity to make enough to live on their own, or start their adult lives. In 10 weeks we help them understand that their enthusiasm and attitude are the best tools they have. Our life mastery coursework lays the foundation for the belief that they can work hard and actively build their lives. Our trades skills program gives them hands on experience with a number of trades and countless tools. It is every bit a preapprenticeship program with the added component of teaching interpersonal communication and emotional intelligence skills.

When these students graduate and navigate the first steps of their new career, it is a very cool thing to watch. For some of our students it means they believe in themselves in a way they never had before. It’s about standing taller, contributing to a team, building the foundations of their future while building the structures of their communities.

Fortitude is about their hard work. It’s about the professionals who have gone before them, reaching back to bring them into the industry. It’s about the businesses that orbit the trade universe, recognizing the amazing work that can be done. The outcome is not only changed lives but also an industry strengthened by collective effort to make things better.
