Lessons from Fiction

"Everything you want is on the other side of cringe" is what got me to post on LinkedIn in the beginning. 

It's also what's gotten me to post videos on Youtube and Instagram now. 

And I gotta tell ya, it's turning out to be pretty accurate. 

Of course, I'm not getting mega brand deals or hitting millions of views, but I'm learning. Learning what opportunities are out there for the people who are putting themselves on camera and sharing their thoughts with the world. 

And seeing the possibilities is what gets me excited. Not because I've got the opportunities or the revenue in my hands, but that there's a path forward. 

So if you're still on the fence about sharing your thoughts online, whether it's in text form or video form, let this be a sign. 

Just start.

Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Built out a feature in Typescript and AWS Cloudscape that impacted 15% of customers by resolving a critical pain point and saving over $200,000 in quarterly spendings. 

Built a feature that implemented client side logic to render specific customer details saving over 40 hours of manual communication between TPMs and customers. 

Scaled the team's technology to increase customer base by 130% by launching feature flag with different regions. 

Worked with partner teams to implement unit tests with Jest and Puppeteer to make sure no critical dependencies were impacted while archiving legacy infrastructure.

Worked with a summer intern on a project using React Query, and Outposts data to create a map view of all active servers and racks for each customer.

I discovered my passion for problem solving in my Intro to CS course in college. Since then, I have continued to chase the software dream. I graduated with a B.S. degree in Computer Science from the University of Richmond, worked as a Jr. Web Developer for about a year and decided to further develop my skills and fill in some knowledge gaps as an engineer by graduating from an intensive bootcamp program with Hack Reactor. Recently, I've had the privilege of working with some extremely great engineers at AWS building out features for the AWS Outposts console as a Front End Engineer. 

As an avid basketball fan, I love watching teams work together. Teamwork brings out the beauty of basketball, and no championship is won alone.
