We had the amazing opportunity to meet up with the Twelve marketing team to do an in-person Webflow Workshop in Amsterdam. Thank you Tamara Oudwater, Anja van Wijk and Sven van de Voorde for listening to me talk about Webflow for hours and hours without losing interest hahaha

Teaching Webflow was only the beginning. We wanted Twelve to truly own their site. Their new website is built on a modular system, making it easier than ever for the marketing team to build and scale on their own.

The internet is shifting from search engines to answer engines. People aren't just browsing and comparing a bunch of links anymore, they’re asking a question, getting an answer, and moving on.

If a website isn't built to be understood by these models, it’s basically invisible in that discovery layer.

Here is the shift we're seeing in web development right now:

☑️ Clarity beats cleverness: Clever is for winning awards, but clarity is for discoverability. AI needs to map your structured meaning, it wants to see a clear audience, category, and outcome.

☑️ Comprehension is the new filter: SEO optimizes for visibility, but AEO is about optimizing for comprehension. It’s about being understood so you actually get selected inside an AI-generated response.

☑️ Technical foundations still matter: AEO isn't replacing SEO; it builds on top of it. If the technical structure is bad and the site isn't crawlable, you won't even make it into the data set.
