Cabela's

Oversaw OMNI-channel category specific product assortments and ad planning including Internet, Catalog, and Retail assortments for over 70 locations, $100+ million revenue. Ensured optimal product flow and presentation to consumers and met category financial goals (margin, profit, revenue, turns) by enhancing collaboration across support teams. Assisted in development, design, and launch of Cabela’s brand name products, which provided over $10M in revenue at higher margin than class standard.  Negotiated and helped design several $1 million+ revenue exclusive offers from branded partners differentiating from competitors and creating unique assortments.  

Increased revenue by driving sales and profitability targets with SKU count over 4K inventory SKUs and 2K drop ship SKUs. Increased GM%, sales, and turns by 200 bps year-over-year while creating 30% SKU reduction for regionally targeted Fall assortments; relevant assortment facilitated 7% increase in October 2017 sales and beat margin plan by 111 bps and down $3M inventory to plan and $7M to LY. Used advanced analytics to analyze and scale assortment planning processes; developed scaled assortment strategy within a complex legal and regulatory environment.

Consistently identified as high performer and asked to contribute to pilot and special programs through mentorship, new employee on boarding, and process projects.

Retail Associate Category Manager

Responsible for Analyzing, Forecasting, and Refining merchandise assortments for the Ammunition, Storage and Shooting Accessories, Black Powder, and Reloading teams.
Reduced certain assortments overall SKU count, but helped increase sales by allowing teams to focus on fewer items
Optimized retail and internet assortments by suggesting and implementing strategies to reduce lower turning, private label goods to branded, higher turning goods
Managed gun safe inventory with strategic vendor partner and assisted in increasing business from $6 million to $16 million over 2 years- while increasing turns 100% from 2009-2012
Provided vendor sales dollar  and unit forecasts to strategic vendor partners
Negotiated special terms and exclusivity with vendor partners by developing strong relationships
Generated, tracked, and reduced problematic inventory including discontinued, aged, and slow sellers
Cooperated with merchandising to optimize vendor relationships by providing solid sales forecasting and follow up.
