After my media and research career in the advertising industry, I followed a long-standing interest and pivoted successfully to become an internationally-published travel and food writer. Following two years at MediaCom as a Media Strategist, I assumed the role of General Manager working with a variety of creative agencies and direct clients and having responsibility for up to seven team members. Key industry sectors and clients represented during this time included The Warehouse (Retail), Sara Lee (FMCG), Griffins & Eta (FMCG) and Oracle (IT).

During my time at MediaCom I was one of New Zealand's most innovative media strategists with multiple wins in the CAANZ Media Awards (now the Beacons) and the Effies Advertising Effectiveness Awards.

Before assuming the role of GM at MediaCom I was Grey Worldwide's lead media strategist working closely with agency clients, external creative agencies and direct clients. I was also a key member of a successful new business team that drove the expansion of the agency.

Working with a variety of media and advertising brands including Mojo, Publicis, FCB and TrueNorth Media, I supported agency client service teams, media planners and creative departments to develop actionable marketing strategies. Aspects of this role included developing presentations after conducting focus groups around NZ, regular publication of key agency insights and strategic white papers, and in-depth analysis harnessing syndicated media research tools.

Equally at home jumping on public transport in Sumatra or southern Vietnam or hunting down the best craft beer in Portland or Perth, I’m one of Australasia’s most versatile and experienced travel writers.
