Due to the fact that the branch’s structure is still in a development phase, all the tasks related to the Customer Care Dept are being executed by me, as well as all the duties that should compete to a Service Manager providing support and solutions to all those customers who are experiencing problems on their production lines or are looking to new solutions.

In the position as Technical Manager, I will use my understanding and knowledge of the software, for performing installation, validation, equipment set-up and troubleshooting, giving training to managers and line operators, sale's support.

My tasks include also:
▪ Managing implementation of SEA Vision Serialization Systems on Packaging Lines for Pharma companies.

During this period I’ve been Responsible for the research and development of a Web Application used for identifying emotions through a Facial Emotions/Expressions Recognition Software, monitoring the behavior of children while at school. The tool developed, is able to record the output video of the computer, while questioning the single child about the classroom environment. The videos collected are then computed with the Facial Emotion Recognition Software for the realization of a statistical model able to find a correlation between the answers given and the emotions recorded, investigating in this way all the possible dimensions of interest. 
The experiment conducted involved 180 children, for a total of 15 classes in Primary and Secondary School. First experiment of this kind worldwide on children of such age.

This company is working for a beneficial change to be the profitable ecological caretakers of the ocean. Manatee Holdings Ltd. had given more than a million dollars of job opportunities in the Comox Valley for local employment in the last 3 years.

It sustainably harvests Geoduck clams and sea cucumbers from wild fisheries.  The company is currently spearheading the shift from fishing to aquaculture of these two species.

Manatee Holdings Ltd. specializes in harvesting gourmet foods from the sea mostly for the sushi market.  They have been doing this for 30 years.  About 20 years ago, they decided that the fisheries were being mined out and began process of shifting their revenues towards the development of environmentally beneficial ocean ranching of the species that they specialize in harvesting from the wild. They are continuing to spear head this new industry into place which we believe is a food production model that in time will be followed by people throughout the world as it does away with the inherent flaws to be found in the systems of management for wild fisheries, agriculture, and other forms of aquaculture.  They have created a commercial hatchery facility in a residential area that borders on an estuarian area.  The facility now only adds to the ambiance and property values of the residential neighbourhood, it also enhances the ecology of the estuarian area.  They have created a system of aquaculture that is non-disturbing to coastal residence.  They have created a system of aquaculture, unlike most other aquacultural operations, that is invisible to the eye, and non-disturbing to coastal residents.

Here are my top 3 takeaways from the 2025 Sustainability Report by the Canadian Aquaculture Industry Alliance (CAIA):

1) Strong Commitment to Fish Health and Welfare

The sector achieved 100% compliance with Canada’s Code of Practice for the care and handling of farmed salmonids. Fish survival rates in marine environments improved to 85%, edging closer to the 90% target. Additionally, antibiotic use was nearly halved from 34 instances in 2022 to 17 in 2023. Non-medicinal treatments now comprise 48% of all interventions, emphasizing a shift towards more sustainable fish health management.

2) Substantial Progress Toward Sustainable Feed and Ocean Health

Sourcing environmentally sustainable feed remains a priority, with 97% of fish meal and fish oil coming from certified sustainable fisheries (a 5% increase from 2022). Use of non-marine ingredients in feed is growing, though slightly lower than the prior year. The sector also committed to zero fish escapes, and continuous improvements are underway to protect marine ecosystems, including ocean floor (benthic) health and preventing plastic pollution.

3) Focus on Climate Change Mitigation and Food Security

Greenhouse gas emissions per tonne of harvested fish rose slightly to 0.64 tCO₂e from 0.58, largely due to broader emissions accounting (scope 1 and 2). Four companies have implemented climate adaptation measures. Food security efforts included donations totaling $261K (down from $1.2M in 2022) and donations of 49,000 salmon meals to nonprofits and First Nations. The industry remains focused on reducing emissions by 35% by 2030 and enhancing resilience to climate impacts.
