When instinct hits, act before fear starts negotiating.

5️⃣ Follow the 70% rule.
Waiting for 100% certainty is waiting forever.

Overthinking is disguised fear.
But action? That’s leadership in motion.

But one small number kept bothering me — their receivables jumped by 18%.

Nothing dramatic… but it didn’t match the “we’re doing great” feeling they had.

One of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my business….



“Is taking on a competent bookkeeper who not just enters transactions and pays bills, but someone who’s actually invested in my business.”

That’s what a client told me yesterday when we met.

He had been running his books himself for many years, and they were actually perfect and clean when I took them over.

He didn’t outsource it because he didn’t know how to do it himself - he wanted someone to manage the business's financials in a better way. That was what he was looking for.

There are a ton of people out there selling bookkeeping services, but many of them are not invested in the business's success. 

Find someone who can help you with cash flow management and understands and explains your numbers to you.

(True story: a bookkeeper reached out to me a few weeks ago, asking how to check something in QB when I told him to run a P&L and filter it, he asked me, “A P what?”)

My client has really tight margins, but we're not focusing on increasing them.


One of my clients has really tight margins, which is usually not healthy for a typical business, but we're not focusing on increasing them at all.

Why?

Because he was able to run his 5MM business with a very tight and small overhead, so he still gets a healthy 15% net profit margin.

He figured out, with strong systems, how to have his overhead so small.

And this gives him a competitive advantage over his competitors who have to ask higher prices than them.

Increasing margins is the easiest thing to tell a client to do, but if you can figure it out without it, it's not always the best decision.

🔍 A tiny mistake was costing this client $1,250 every single month.



I was reviewing a client’s books and spotted a small charge that didn’t look right.

Turns out they were paying for two software subscriptions — the same one — under different emails.

Nobody noticed because it was “only” a few hundred dollars each time.

 But monthly? It added up to $1,250.

 Yearly? Over $15,000 gone.

📅A Simple Way to Sleep Better About Cash



One simple rule I like:

Have enough cash to cover at least one full month of your main expenses.

Not as a dream. As a goal to work toward.

You don’t get there in one jump. You build it slowly:

	•	Cut what you don’t use.
	•	Improve collections.
	•	Raise prices where you’re undercharging.

Little by little, that buffer grows.

And when it’s there, you feel it — less panic, more control.
