An “open door policy” sounds good…
But here’s the truth, most people won’t walk through an open door on their own, you have to invite them in.

Take the time today to pull someone into your office, or better yet, go find them where they are and ask some engaging questions like these:

-“What’s harder than it needs to be?”
-“What’s frustrating you that I may not see?”

And when they answer… don’t defend. Don’t explain. Don’t fix it immediately.

Simply listen.
