Over 15+ years in UX and product design, I’ve worked in complex, multi-team environments where the real challenge is alignment. I’ve unified fragmented interfaces into a single design system, turned ad-hoc design work into repeatable workflows, and helped product, design, and engineering rally around shared standards that actually get used.

At Capital One, that means setting clear patterns and governance, reducing design and dev rework, and helping teams ship with more confidence and less churn.

My view of design leadership centers on building the conditions where good work ships consistently.

For me, that means:

Led team to complete the modernization and migration of Retail e-Transfers to Scotiabank’s centralized Payment Hub enabling real time fraud monitoring by collaborating to gain stakeholder alignment on timelines, troubleshooting technical
issues and communicating to Senior Executives.

Presented monthly Steering Committee updates for Senior Level Management to communicate progress on program and gain buy in on future strategic direction for $5MM+ budget.

Direct strategy and implementation for portfolio of products representing $200M+ and over 80% of bank’s revenue. Manage cross-functional teams across product, engineering, and design to understand client pain points and translate into technically feasible features for desktop and mobile product platforms with combined value of $4M.  Partner with regulatory groups, marketing, and operations to redefine end-to-end client journey and maximize ROI.

Lead Product Owner, Deposits, Investments & Small Business

Senior member of the product team responsible for the strategy and delivery of new products, such as Apple Wallet, while minimizing operational losses and improving revenue for a loss leader product.

Spearheaded the International Money Movement strategy by analyzing the customer potential and competitive landscape, creating a strong business case and proposed launch plan, which was presented to senior executives.

Created a data driven hold policy that reduced fraud and improved client experience by collaborating with Client Experience, Fraud, Data Sciences and the Call Center while providing strategic leadership on competing priorities for each group.

Helped design and build the Bank’s omni-channel strategy by being lead for the Chequing product team and providing strategic direction on the product needs and customer expectations.

Managed research and development for new payment innovations, including Apple Pay and Facebook Payments product capabilities across TD. Partnered with senior executive team to identify needs, gaps, and strategic fit for new product opportunities.
