I've been creating things, every minute of every day, ever since my mom turned around in the front seat of the car and said, "Let's play a game". She explained, "Every time you notice something neat in the world, notice what's missing. Notice how things could be even better. Imagine what you would create if you could create anything, and we'll daydream about it together. This is inventing." I fell in love with inventing at that moment, and have never stopped.

Malcolm Gladwell said it takes 10,000 hours to become an expert at something. I've been inventing deliberately, non-stop, for over 40 years. I have thousands of inventions and have brought hundreds to the world: a collaborative online market research platform that's still around today, Canada's first performance advertising network, a machine that makes websites in 10 minutes, Google's (and Gusto's) approach to customer acquisition, and Google Partners – Google's largest money-making marketing program ever, now generating billions annually.

Above all, I love inventing ways to help others flourish. Like the Indeed Happiness Score – a program we created at Indeed to help people be happier at work, and let everyone know where all of us are actually happiest working.

What would make you happiest at work?

For me, it's having the freedom to create. And in today's AI revolution, I see an unprecedented opportunity to give everyone that same freedom.

Cea mai bună maximă din istoria antreprenoriatului vine de la fondatorul Four Seasons, Isadore Sharp. Issy, așa cum i se spunea, zicea că: „Excelența este capacitatea de a suporta durerea.”

Câți oameni vor să atingă măreția? Toată lumea.

Dar oricine a făcut vreodată ceva dificil cunoaște euforia și teroarea pe care o implică - antreprenoriatul este un montagne russe emoțional.

Este important să vorbim despre asta, tocmai pentru că este dificil.
Nu există o singură carte care să spună: „Hei, am avut ideea asta. Am implementat-o. Totul a mers excelent. Sfârșit.”

Nu se întâmplă.

James Dyson își încheie autobiografia spunând:
„Ascultă, este ușor pentru mine să-mi sărbătoresc încăpățânarea acum. Am câștigat 300 de milioane de dolari anul trecut, dar te-aș minți dacă nu ar fi existat momente în care am intrat în casă, soția mea s-a uitat la mine ca și cum aș fi un ratat și am plâns până am adormit.

M-am trezit și am făcut-o din nou oricum, pentru că excelența este capacitatea de a suporta durerea.”

În superbul decor al teatrului naťional din Iași, am avut ocazia să văd cateva studii de caz de eficienta si creativitate care-mi dau speranță legat de comunicare brandurilor. Kudos pentru invitați si disponibilitatea de a veni la Iasi sa împărtășească succesele lor.
Poate la edițiile viitoare vom avea mai multi oameni din business-urile locale si regionale.

Știu. Ești un om ocupat. Și cel mai probabil că nici nu-ți place să cumperi haine.

Ești concentrat pe construirea afacerii tale, pe conducerea echipei tale și pe încheierea tranzacțiilor la care lucrezi. Ultimul lucru de care ai nevoie e o altă decizie de luat la 7 dimineața, privind într-un dulap plin de haine care “aproape” că ți se potrivesc.

Înțeleg. De aia nu-mi văd munca ca pe o vânzare de costume. O văd ca pe construirea unui sistem care te ajută sa-ți fructifici abilitățile. Și care-ți pune-n valoare personalitatea unică.

Imaginează-ți o garderobă de bază formată din doar câteva piese esențiale - un costum, un sacou, câțiva pantaloni. Știi care e diferența? Fiecare piesă pare că s-a născut în dulapul tău. Mânecile au lungimea perfectă. Pantalonii se așază exact așa cum trebuie pe pantofi. Nu trebuie să te mai gândești la asta niciodată.

Elimină fricțiunile zilnice. Transformă îmbrăcarea dintr-o corvoadă într-un eveniment firesc, care-ți oferă încrederea să ieși in lume stăpân pe tine. Aceasta este energie mentală economisită pentru problemele care contează cu adevărat. Nu este vorba doar de a te îmbrăca mai bine; este despre a performa mai bine, cu mai puțin efort.

Pentru că, în cele din urmă, cea mai bună ținută este cea la care nu trebuie să te gândești.

Garderoba ta actuală funcționează în favoarea sau împotriva ta?
Te invit în showroom, să-ți prezint câteva țesături excepționale care te vor ajuta să te prezinți lumii in cea mai bună versiune a ta.

Există frumusețe în ceva bine făcut. Croiala fină a unui costum la comandă, pe măsură. Cusăturile delicate ale unui covor vibrant. Eleganța mecanică a unui ceas bine reglat, care ticăie silențios. 

Aceleași legi estetice care guvernează aceste obiecte - și nenumărate altele - se aplică și lumii afacerilor. Există așa ceva ca o afacere frumoasă și elegantă. Nu numai în acele aspecte care ar putea să se vadă - produsul palpabil, logo-ul aurit sau textele de marketing inteligente - ci și în cele care nu se văd: contururile unui model de afaceri, arhitectura fluxurilor de informații, fibra și culoarea culturii. 

Pentru cei dispuși să privească, să studieze cu un ochi apreciativ, chiar și banalitatea aparentă a unui produs B2B poate poseda un fel de grație estetică. 
Iar în lumea tot mai banală și nivelată de IA, asta creează avantaj competitiv.
