Over the past year, I’ve been building something I never really thought I’d be capable of building on my own: a polished mobile app.

Creativity has always been a big part of my life. I’ve done photography for over a decade and spent a lot of time in college doing videography. I’ve always appreciated beautiful, intuitive products - the kind that just feel right when you use them.

At the beginning of the COVID pandemic, I started teaching myself how to code. At the time, it felt like learning a new language just for the sake of it. I never imagined I’d be able to turn that into something real - something other people would actually want to use.

Fast forward a few years, and thanks in large part to the acceleration AI has given to learning and building, I was able to dramatically level up my development skills. What once felt out of reach started to feel possible.

Around the same time, I got much more serious about running (early 2024). Training for races reinforced a few lessons that directly carried into building this app:
	1.	Show up consistently.
	2.	Progress is rarely linear - but if you follow #1, you will see progress.
	3.	Anything worthwhile takes time.

Those lessons were essential this year - especially while working full time and becoming a dad.

The idea for the app itself came from two places:

First, frustration. The world probably doesn’t need another workout app - the market is already crowded with really solid options. But after trying dozens of them over the years, I kept feeling like something was missing. They log workouts well, but they don’t really let you dig into your results. I wanted to clearly separate strength work from hypertrophy work, filter progress under specific conditions, and understand what was actually driving improvement.

Second, my day job. At Capital Group, I work in Results Analysis. My job is literally to dissect performance and understand what’s driving outcomes. It always felt strange that the tools I used for training didn’t allow the same level of analysis.

So I built something that does.

The app lets you:
	•	Separate strength vs hypertrophy progress
	•	Filter by rep ranges, weight ranges, and effort
	•	Customize how volume is counted (including drop sets and partial muscle contribution)
	•	Schedule workouts in advance
	•	Analyze training in a much more intentional way

It’s called Reps, and it’s built for people who care deeply about improving - not just logging.

I’ve officially submitted it to the App Store and am currently waiting for approval!

My app went live on the App Store today! 😃

It’s funny how climactic the moment feels in your head after a year of building. You imagine pressing the “release” button and it being this big milestone… but then you press it and it’s just quiet. No confetti. No celebration. The app just appears - ready for anyone who wants it.

After nights and weekends of learning, coding, second-guessing, recoding, and slowly improving it, the quiet moment of publishing still felt incredibly rewarding.

A year of work condensed into one click.

- Hired, trained, manage, and mentor staff of seven employees
- Develop and submit purchase orders to reoccurring vendors and follow up until filled  
- Develop request for proposal, evaluate bids, analyze price and negotiate with vendors
- Handle past due collection with a recovery rate of 100%
- In under one year, we surpassed the sales goal of 300k in sales in a month set by the owner

-In 2011 I moved to New Hampshire to open a distribution center after our company acquired a regional competitor.  
-Work to establish lasting relationships with both vendors and customers to position ourselves as the go-to business partner.
- Maintained and cultivated relationships with the customers during the ownership transition leading to increased sales. 
-Develop and submit purchase orders to reoccurring vendors and follow up until filled  
-Handle past due collection with a recovery rate of 100%

Worked under both the VP of operations & VP of finance. On the operations side, I implemented cycle counting of the inventory to increase accuracy. I also assisted in ordering inventory.  Traveled across the country to trade shows to meet with prospective clients. With our finance team, I approved credit apps and supported in collections monthly.

I believe that failure should never be due to a lack of effort.  I enjoy being on the front end of projects and the thrill of starting something new.  My experience opening two different wholesale distribution centers reflects this. I think job descriptions can add limitations at times, and that you should always be willing to stretch yourself outside of your job title.

In regards to my passions, I enjoy volunteering my time at various organizations.
