As an Account Executive, I have the same role as a "Director of Sales". Meaning, my role is responsible for helping my hotels grow in occupancy, revenue, ADR, and RevPar. The unique thing about this role is that I don't sell for a single hotel, but 8. The Woodbury Corporation owns and operates over a dozen hotels in the state of Utah. 8 of which sit in the southern Salt Lake Valley (Murray - Draper).  



Our team is deployed to various vertical markets, I am deployed to the IT/Tech sector in the area. I don't seek to just "book the business" I aim to build a relationship and provide solutions to my partners.

Account Executive - Southern Salt Lake Valley Hotels

Expedia, Inc.

•Build and progressively expand my portfolio of local hotel partners by introducing prospective high potential partners to Expedia’s global value proposition and facilitating their on-boarding process

• Develop and sustain strong partner relationships by providing relevant data insights and superior consulting services to hotel partners (revenue management advice, marketing opportunities on the Expedia marketplace)

• Ensure that my partner hotels’ product (content, rates and availability) is consistently optimized and competitive on the Expedia sites to maximize customer conversion

• Secure additional inventory over high demand and compression periods to satisfy customers’ pressing needs

• Secure seasonal deals, evergreen and dynamic promotions within the guidelines set by Management to support the brands’ merchandising and marketing efforts.

• Continuously promote to and develop hotel partners’ high engagement with Expedia’s full suite of:

o Unique market insights (partner reports, competitive data, key performance drivers)
o Revenue management tools (dynamic promotions, packages, fenced deals, mobile)
o Marketing and merchandising opportunities
o Specialized brands (e.g. Egencia, Hotwire, Media Solutions) potential opportunities
o Self-service tools (Expedia Partner Central), Connectivity solutions (Expedia Quick Connect) and key support functions (Property Assistance team)

Associate Market Manager

Market Associates work with hotels to increase revenue by resolving content, rate and availability issues. They also secure additional inventory over high demand periods as well as helping to sign up new properties and maintain relationships with existing ones.

Expedia Local Expert offers concierge services in over 80 of Orlando's top hotels and resorts. Services include theme park ticketing, dinning reservations, dinner show sales & reservations, theatrical production ticketing, information and tickets to smaller local attractions, timeshare gifting, and top tier guest services. 

My role as a concierge is to assist guests with planning their activities in the Orlando area and to sell ticket media. Creating a memorable vacation for my guests is my top priority, while still generating revenue for Expedia and our partners. Maintaining a positive relationship with the hotel\resort, guests, vendors, and referral partners is a key goal of this position

As a Campus Representative I represented the Walt Disney Company at Brigham Young University-Idaho where I completed my undergraduate degree. 

The Campus Rep Team strived to promote and support Disney Internships and Programs though on-campus and community marketing. Some marketing efforts included information tables, presentations on campus, and partnering with local business.

	Worked with a team of fellow Campus Representatives that developed a comprehensive marketing plan for the Disney College Program on the Brigham Young University-Idaho campus. 
	Implemented tactics created in our marketing plan; such as newspaper articles in the school newspaper, posting of flyers, posters and other printed media on campus and the community. All of which were created to drive students to attend both online and in person presentations about the program.
	Collaborated with campus administration and the local community to promote the program while upholding the integrity of the Walt Disney Company.

My role as Director helped me expand my leadership and organizational qualities. As the Director I developed a new method to teach students about the academic advising and career planning services at BYU-Idaho. My main responsibility was to lead and train my team of  12 facilitators and 2 coordinators and to ensure the quality of the seminars.

As a Management Intern, I was able to shadow the Managers of the hotel (Front Desk, Maintenance, Housekeeping, Breakfast, and Sales). As I was in each area, I learned the operation of that department and focused on what made the guests come back repeatedly. Near the end of the internship, I shadowed the General Manager and learned directly from him what his job entailed. I gained a basic understanding of revenue management of a hotel, was able to participate in projects that were aimed at lowering operation costs of the hotel in breakfast and grounds keeping as well as planning the operating budget for the next year.

Management Training Intern

The Churro Factory

The Churro Factory was a student-ran business at BYU-Idaho and was part of the Integrated Business Core. 

As a group of 16 students, we started with 600 business ideas and through trial & error, market research, and deliberation our decision was to open a churro stand on the BYU-Idaho Campus. 

We made fresh churros from scratch on location. We filled them with a variety of fillings such as Oreo Cheesecake, Cream Cheese, and Chocolate Peanut Butter. We also offered the option to have the churros rolled in cinnamon and sugar or dipped in white chocolate and/or milk chocolate. 

My role was to lead and manage a department within our company to develop new churro concepts to sell to the students, faculty, and community. We developed a menu of 10 specialty churros and 9 fillings which led to revenue of roughly $5,200 in an eight week period.

Product Development

Walt Disney World

The Walt Disney World Resort has contracted clients that are authorized to sell Walt Disney World theme park tickets at their locations. As a Client Service Coordinator my responsibilities were to help maintain Point of Purchase marketing material at these locations, promote the Disney brand with our clients, and help them increase in their product knowledge
.•	Developed and maintained strong relationships with off-property clients and acted as main contact with clients and the Walt Disney World Resort. 
•	Spent 25-30 hours a week in direct contact with clients helping them maintain understanding current offerings and events of the Walt Disney World Resort. 
•	Participated in daily meetings with other Client Service Coordinators where plans were made to better help our clients better sell Disney Ticket media. 
•	Maintained a vast number of POP (Point of Purchase) materials by keeping them stocked with pamphlets, buck slips, and inserts featuring current events of the Walt Disney World Resort.

Destination Sales- Client Service Coordinator

I am a part of a team of fellow Campus Representatives for the Disney College Program on the Brigham Young University-Idaho campus. We promote and advertise the Disney College Program at our school and encourage students to apply for the program.

As A Vacation Planner I worked on-site at the Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Florida at the Epcot theme park.    I worked in a sales environment and worked to monthly and quarterly sales goals. Vacation Planners are responsible for daily ticket sales, and trough discovering the needs of the guest help them find the "Best-Fit Ticket." Vacation Planers also help in fulfilling ticket orders for guests who had pre-purchased their tickets.

	Developed sales strategy and application for ticket media sales.
	Gained a vast amount of product knowledge of the Walt Disney World Resort and its ticket media programs.
	Sales contributed to a personal average of 150.66% to goal from September through December.
	Maintained high quality sales while working with high Guest volume.

Vacation Planner

-Worked in companionship with another missionary at all times, finding and teaching families and individuals.
-Developed interpersonal skills by engaging people in conversation and discussion. 
-Lead and trained districts of missionaries (about 6-8) in weekly training meetings.
-Partnered with local congregations for the purpose of finding families to invite to the local congregation.

I represent and sell for 7 different hotel brands in the Salt Lake Valley. 

I value being authentic and being who I am at all times. I might be a goofball, but I'm a goofball that will go above and beyond for you and your team. I have spent my entire life in the hospitality industry and I learned that people like being treated like they are friends and family. We all like to feel that bond with people. So, that's what I do every day (even in email). 

I've had the pleasure of working in so many segments of the industry; restaurants, theme parks, hotels, and online travel agencies. Everywhere I've gone my goal has been simple: "Make Their Day Great". Whether it came in the form of a guest at Disney World wanting to know what rides were best at the water parks, a small motel owner needing to increase her occupancy, or even in my current position. I want to make your day great in any way I can. 

You might be asking yourself if an "Account Executive" is a sales guy. Well, yes but no. Yeah, it's my fancy variation of "Director of Sales" but really I'm much more than that. I am a problem solver. I'm here to make your job easier when it comes to finding and booking travel accommodations. I'm here to make the day of my guests comfortable and easy. I take pride in helping connect my partners with the right lodging option for them and their travelers.
