Owner of all outbound transportation for a large e-commerce/subscription box brand shipping roughly 8M shipments per year. 

Utilized a deep network of six national and regional carriers with eleven injection points across the country to facilitate volume processing and delivery while enabling the lowest possible cost for delivery. 

Negotiated $50M worth of contracts with all carriers on a rotating basis and built forecasting models to understand the cost implications and volume shifts based on negotiated rates.

Built relationships with all carrier partners to facilitate communication and information flow. 

Developed strategies to mitigate seasonal changes in carrier pricing and surcharges through manipulation of rate shopping software to accurately account for pricing.

Created RFPs for customs brokerage and freight forwarding. Developed and managed KPI metrics and performance expectations across two freight forwarders, three parcel shipment providers, one warehousing 3PL, and one customs brokerage. Negotiated contracts and pricing for domestic parcel shipments and 3PL warehousing. Total reduction of freight spend of roughly $5M accounting for nearly 30% of total transportation expense, increased flexibility and mitigation of port congestion and capacity constraints.

Develop and improve reporting of Apple's supply chain volume and performance metrics, with an emphasis of customer focus. Assembling, auditing, summarizing and presenting Americas Inbound Logistics metrics to Senior Management. 

Acts as the vendor manager for regional carriers. Helps conduct monthly/quarterly business reviews and establishes goals and objectives for both the suppliers and the inbound organization. Primary interface for WorldWide & Regional planning management for exception freight management and urgent supply chain modifications. 

Drive operational KPIs for all aspects of transportation areas. Manipulate and analyze data into usable information for process improvement, cost reduction and customer experience. Develop and manage operational standards, operational procedures/guidelines and coordinate the implementation locally. Establishes containment actions in response to daily operational matters. 

Implements escalation process within Apple and carriers in response to operational issues. Monitor activities of international transportation providers while driving continuous process improvements. 

Monitors and reports carrier performance on daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis. Analyzes transportation reports/data to identify trends and recommends corrective action. Monitors end of month, end of quarter and end of year requirements. 

Monitor and assist in prevention of cargo loss, identify trends and recommends best practices with WW loss prevention.

Logistics Analyst, Americas Inbound Parcel

United States Marine Corps

Managed all transportation and embarkation, ammunition and ordnance storage, HAZMAT training and usage, maintenance management, safety inspections, and supply oversight. 

Provided general guidance to over 60 personnel and managed over $5M budget for the effective maintenance of 300 vehicles, accomplishing the goal of a 90% readiness rate.

 Identified opportunities and suppliers to provide materials and supplies based on clearly identified advantages based on reduced total cost, quality, functionality, delivery reliability, and logistics necessities.

Guided and motivated a team of nine cross-functional logistics personnel in organizing, planning, and shipping over $100M of equipment via air, land, and sea in accordance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws.

Planned, scheduled, conducted, and reported monthly comprehensive, detailed, maintenance performance inspections of all commodity areas to ensure compliance with safety standards, to assess the overall effectiveness of the maintenance effort, and to monitor the modification and calibration control programs, ensuring adherence with pertinent directives.

Battalion Logistics Officer

Supervised a logistics team of personnel who monitored the safe transportation of approximately $850M in critical logistic supplies, including fuel, food/water building supplies, construction equipment, ammunition, and personnel over more than 10,400 miles of hazardous terrain.

Evaluated and analyzed the day-to-day needs of over 4,300 personnel operating from 12 disparate locations and made sound recommendations to executive management about supply replenishment timelines to ensure timely information flow and proper reporting management.

Developed and maintained a comprehensive tracking database for 4,325 personnel of all water, food, and fuel for each operating location based on reported consumption data, to develop strategies capable of delivering the best results possible. 

Created approximately 130 operational resupply presentations and briefed executive management on the daily status of all on-going and anticipated logistical operations to maintain situational awareness,  recommend quality improvements, cost reductions, engineering changes and delivery reliability improvement initiatives while also actively debriefing support personnel on route efficacy, lessons learned data, local heuristics, and optimization. 

Coordinated, planned, and aligned the necessary resources in support of large-scale training events, for over 500 personnel.

Training/Watch Officer

Mentored, led, and managed the professional development and morale of 43 personnel with diverse experience levels, capabilities, and backgrounds, to foster optimal operational achievement while managing shipping convoys with over 20 vehicles in high pressure, threat-based, environments.

Managed the dispatch of approximately 10 simultaneous time-sensitive projects through effective delegation and fore-sight of potential problems while supervising all personnel on the operation and proper usage of 7-15 ton heavy-haul vehicles. 

Developed and drove schedules, prioritized and sequenced logistical tasks, and regularly collaborated with a variety of functional teams in various cross-capability efforts in support of complex planning operations by gathering data and performing analysis on the information in order to deliver services and/or products that meet operational needs.

Implemented administrative initiatives after the thorough review and analysis of lessons learned data, collaborating with others in long-term strategic planning, and the development of implementation guidance in order to attain organizational goals and objectives. 

Communicated processes and procedures with personnel under my supervision by writing policy on the safe transportation of logistics necessities while aggressively capitalizing on inter-agency training to ensure all personnel were technically proficient, and capable of performing to the best of their abilities.

Managed, supervised, and led approximately 65 convoys, transporting over 38,000 gallons of petroleum and over 14,800 gallons of water in support of organizational needs.
