Don't start your DM with: "Hope this message finds you well”

It has never found anyone well. Try this instead: 

1. Relevant + Good Timing + Personalised
• 2-4 sentences max. It's a DM, not an email.
• Personalise the 1st and the last line of your DM.

2. Value + Social Proof
• Show the Status QUO is not desirable by focusing on Cost of Inaction
• Add social proof with an example of a similar company = build trust faster

3. End strongly
• End with ONE clear yes/no call-to-action.
• Be super specific about what you’re asking for (don't ask the meeting)

This formula will get you a response: 

Name - <observation>, <value>. <social proof> + <risk reversal>. <CTA>.

Some good openers examples:

• Artur - your CEO <name> mentioned on a pod...
• Matt - saw in your <name of the report>...
• Yurii - despite 293k visits in October...

*Bonus tip: Move beyond DMs

- Combine DMs + Calls + Email.
- Decision-makers are more likely to respond that way.

It makes you look bad. Here’s why: 

AI does a lot. 

Deep research? (AiSDR)
Enrichment? (Clay)
Drafts? (Twain).

But AI can’t originate. 

It relies heavily on templates and patterns it's seen before.

Also, AI often misses crucial context:

• If they already have a solution like yours
• How your solution fits into the prospect's ecosystem
• Whether your timing makes sense for their business cycle

The most effective cold emails I've seen share these things:

- Clear reason why act now
- micro-stories with social proof
- Relevant, well timed and good offer

Here’s how to use AI + Cold Emails best: 

Use AiSDR (agent) or Clay's agent to: 

1. De-anonymise site visitors
2. Summarise LinkedIn profiles in seconds
3. Find lookalike leads, prep 1st cold email draft

Then, it’s time for you to step in:

Cold Email Rewrite

Your cold email should be like a burger.

The first bite has to be so good, prospects want more.

Unfortunately, most emails are gas station sandwiches.

Here's the 8-ingredient recipe to cook up a Michelin Star +15% reply rate:

1. Subject Line (The Bun Top)
- Think boring, think internal. 
- Keep it simple, under 3 words.

2. Opener (The First Bacon Bite)
- Your 1st line should scream "I did my homework."
- Use enrichment tools to find info for a "punchy start" 

3. Relevance (The Cheese)
- Focus on WHY NOW, instead of WHY US
- Work-related reasons always win.

4 Pain Point (The Healthy Stuff)
- Mirror their biggest challenge and reveal the cost of inaction.
- This is the only way to create real urgency.

5. Value (The Pickled Onion)
- Nobody cares about your product/service. 
- Everyone's looking for "what's in it for me”. not “what we do”

6 Social Proof (The Lettuce)  
- Show how you helped similar companies. 
- One specific win beats ten vague claims.

7. Clear CTA (The Meat)
- Make saying "no" easy. 1 yes/no question.
- Reduce friction, build trust.

8. P.S. Section (The Secret Sauce)
- Save personal interests for PS. 
- Let your main email focus on business value.
