A few common red flags:

I’m an incredibly direct person.

Lately I’ve been leaning on ChatGPT to help me tailor messages, but even then… people are people.

You can do the research, read the room, run the personality tests, and still land on a phrase that rubs someone the wrong way. So I try not to beat myself up chasing the “perfect” wording.

That’s also why I still value in-person so much. Meetings, time together, real conversations—it clears up what text can’t.

In 2025 I planned on doing fractional marketing for brands or SaaS companies. And we have done that.

One intro can change the game for a small company like Chasing Creative. 

We've had current clients this year recommend us to 1-2 partners of theirs—the result has been a mix of projects and small but powerful MRR growth for a solo agency built around contractors.

Less stress. More momentum. I’m genuinely excited about the work again.

Easy answer: this is the dream.

Doing your own thing isn’t easy. I still delegate, still stay scrappy, and still get my hands dirty every day.

What has changed is clarity. Speed. And a real knack for finding solutions that actually move the needle for clients.

In 2025, we had one client that didn’t pan out. One. And that happens.

Everything else has been about alignment, execution, and building something sustainable—for us and the people we work with.

Momentum is a powerful thing when you’re clear on where you’re going.

Agency life isn’t about balance—and honestly, that fits me.

If you’ve worked with me, you know I move fast, have a lot of energy, and over-communicate by default.

When I took Chasing Creative full-time, it started with just a handful of clients and projects—enough to build a foundation, but not without pressure.

Going from a six-figure salary with benefits and equity to building from zero was wild.

What made it intense? A couple of retainers.

 What if one churned? How many months could we float?

That’s where planning mattered.

I knew one of my largest clients might shift budget. It made sense. And they did—cut the retainer in half.

But I saw it as a win.

They chose to keep working together, even at a smaller scope. And I felt the same—some clients feel like family. Budgets change. That’s real.

Over the last year, I focused on stacking smaller retainers—especially around website management.

 Affordable for startups and mid-sized teams, but meaningful when they compound.

That shift made losing 50% of one retainer far less painful.

And it works. One client saved $12K a year by leaving an agency charging double for similar work.
