Flying solo with piles of video gear used to feel intimidating — not anymore. I’ve been lugging cameras and lighting around for two decades, but when it’s work, it hits different.

These days I think in terms of context and shoot:
🎥 What story are we telling?
💡 What tools actually make the difference?

For me, that’s lighting and audio — every time.

Agency life changes you.

A year ago, I would’ve panicked at a client cutting their retainer.

Today? I see it as part of the game.

MRR has plateaued a bit while projects keep rolling in—great for cash flow, not so great for scale. 

And this week, one of our highest-paying clients trimmed their spend. Not because of performance—but market shifts.

I didn’t take it personally. I saw it coming and started adjusting months ago.

That’s why growing recurring revenue has been my main focus for Chasing Creative.

In the early days, a handful of loyal clients helped us launch. We’re in a solid place now, but I know we’re just scratching the surface.

Next phase? 

Building the team, systems, and partnerships that let Chasing Creative grow far beyond me. Times like this help you recalibrate what is important in the business and remember what got you there in the first place.

Meanwhile—they are distracted by their media while they should be creating their own.

Competition is not supposed to be obsession from a brand perspective—you should be fixed on their customers, funnels for leads, and offer.

What a fun Friday.

Met with a possible new hire (👀 who doesn’t need some social help these days?).

Talked with a stealth startup launching in the health space—super inspiring conversation.

And wrapped the week mapping new travels and upcoming shoots.
