Over Christmas my wife got me an xbox...I know to be young again. 

I was surprised actually. I really treasure my time and this feels like a waste but wait... 

Could I replace my online shopping (stuff I don't need), scrolling, etc. 

But it's also been a great lesson in staying up to date with tech as a marketer. Microsoft Xbox Series X has really put time and effort into their interface and come a long way. 

They now market new items, platforms, and brands like never before. And guilty pleasure is jumping on Fortnite with a couple friends around the country to decompress. What is fun is they are business owners as well which makes the time both req. and decompress to chat about our work. 

And some sauce for brands out there trying to market new brands—look into Fortnite. They feature brands and groups like Stranger Things, Kill Bill, and many more trends. Getting your product into their shop could really be a driver of organic attention—if you have the budget. 

All in all—finding spaces for downtime, keeping your mind busy, and researching trends is one way in 2026 I'll improve my overall engagement with physical tech. 

Also—don't get me started on Samsung Electronics commercial screen savers that now appear when you pause the TV...

Having a 2019 MacBook Pro (very last Intel) which still works well is starting to show age.

Several things, AI related, I cannot do/see/experience is making me start to consider a new laptop/machine when I don’t really need one. 

Ugh

I started building an AI assistant to manage my projects, tasks, and eventually relationships. 

Two weeks in, Clawdbot goes viral.

The temptation to switch was real. 

But after a few hours of research, I realized:
- My custom requirements (energy-based task management, specific daily routines) are the same work either way
- Clawdbot's web UI is chat and config, not the dashboards I want
- Pre-built skills still need heavy customization for my workflow
- I'd be trading my own codebase for someone else's breaking changes
- Plus I'd rather keep using the headless CC than rack up the expense of API usage.

The grass looked greener. It's just different grass.

If you're building something similar, don't panic when a new tool drops. Ask what it actually solves for your specific needs.
