HeyReach just got banned by LinkedIn ❌ 
We've run 200+ campaigns with them. Here's my opinion 👇

Of all the LinkedIn tools out there, HeyReach was one of the most careful.

They respected rate limits.
They built for safety.
They did everything right
... and they still got banned.

Which means no one is safe.
Because this isn't about compliance.
 
LinkedIn is playing a different game entirely.
Every tool that monetizes their data better than they do is a target.

Automation tools first.
Then enrichment.
Then analytics.
 
LinkedIn is closing the loop, slowly, then all at once.
Worth noting, existing campaigns are still running, users are not affected.
 
The right question to ask isn't "which tool do I switch to?"
It's:

They're not.

Clay is separating what the platform does from what the data costs.

For GTM teams, that clarity matters, and it sets them up to charge properly for the orchestration features coming next.
 
Across the 70+ clients we run GTM for, 
the teams that will feel this most are the ones doing serious enrichment work inside Clay, and for them, this is a genuine win 🏆 
 
Clay also publicly said this will cost them 10% in revenue short term.
That's not a company optimizing for quarterly numbers, that's a bet on the right model winning.

Most GTM teams are automating the wrong thing first

They bolt AI onto a broken outbound sequence, triple the volume, and then wonder why conversion didn't move. The sequence was never the problem. The sequence was just the most visible place to spend money. 

The right order is less exciting but it actually works. First, cut the steps that shouldn't exist. Most outbound motions have two or three touches that were added because someone read a blog post in 2019, not because they ever drove a response. Remove them before you automate anything. 

Then tighten the messaging that remains. If you can't explain in one sentence why this person should care right now, no tool is going to fix that for you. 

After that, standardize what good looks like across your reps. One person hitting quota with their own system isn't a process, it's a dependency. Document it, pressure-test it, make it repeatable. 

Then automate. 

The uncomfortable part is that most agencies skip straight to step four. It's easier to sell a sequencing tool than a process audit. It's easier to promise volume than to tell a client their messaging is the problem. 

But volume on a broken process is just a faster way to burn your list.

21 LinkedIn plays that actually move pipeline

Had a call last Tuesday with a founder who told me his marketing coordinator with ChatGPT could handle their LinkedIn content and I hear some version of this basically every week now so I asked him to pull up what the coordinator actually posted last month.

11 posts, fine grammar, clean structure, very clearly AI-assisted and total inbound from all 11: zero.

We'd been running content for a client in a similar space for about 6 weeks, doing maybe 4 posts a week, and one of them - this post about why their buyers keep ghosting after the second call - got brought up on 3 separate sales calls in the same week. Not because it went viral or anything, it just said something their buyers were thinking about and nobody else was saying out loud.

The coordinator was writing from the product roadmap. We were writing from sales call transcripts. That's the whole difference and it has nothing to do with AI tools.

Am I biased? Obviously. But this keeps happening and I keep watching founders figure it out the expensive way.

Founders debate inbound vs outbound like it's a religious war

but they're just two timelines for the same destination.

The bottleneck for both isn't the channel. It's the foundation that relies on a tight ICP, a positioning that actually differentiates, and a value prop your buyer hasn't already tuned out.

I've watched companies burn through 1,000+ cold email sequences with solid deliverability and get almost nothing back. Not because "outbound doesn't work" but just because the message had no POV.

it's the same thing with content

Founders post for 6 months, build a real following, and still close zero deals off it. At that point its not a distribution problem but a positioning problem.

The channel is almost never the issue.

You’re still reviewing the work, answering questions, maintaining context for someone who has none. The promise is “off your plate.” The reality is “lighter on your plate with a new management task added.”

What makes this more frustrating now is i know with some coldbrew and a few hours in Claude Code i could eliminate the entire cost categories in my business this year. The back office is one of the last things still sitting there like an immovable object.

Slash actually makes sense to me in a way most banking products for agencies don’t.

Multiple clients, multiple cards, expense categorization that doesn’t require you to explain what a retainer is to a support rep who’s never seen a services business. Clean reconciliation. Fast closes.

but the part that got me wasn’t the product.

They put their co-founder Victor on a plane, strapped a camera to him, and filmed the entire free fall just to prove that Slash can close your books in under 60 seconds (same window as the time between jumping and pulling the cord.)

Most B2B fintech presents features the same way: clean UI screenshots, a product walkthrough, “built for teams like yours.” The marketing is indistinguishable from the competitor’s marketing.

This one actually made me give a shit

The B2B brands that compound in the next decade won’t be the ones with the best features. They’ll be the ones willing to put their founder on a plane.
