Showing up used to be enough.  I mean really showing up. Working hard. Being there. Doing what you say. When you say. You can out hustle most people. 

Today’s paradigm is already different. You need to show up… and be a technical expert (in whatever you do), incredibly curious, adaptable cuz things change every week, and then take the next 3 steps…try stuff, figure it out and make things happen without permission.  

It’s happened fast but I’ve observed recently that the bar has already raised on talent expectations. And I’m not just speaking for myself I’ve had this convo w dozens of leaders recently. Every company I talk to has more customer data than ever.

CRM data. Behavioral data. Health scores. Intent signals. NPS. Campaign analytics.

And almost every one of them is still sending the same message to everyone.

The stack is deep. The targeting is shallow.

I think the gap is that most GTM teams built their segments once, early, when the ICP was fresh and the customer base was small. Then the business evolved. The segments didn't. And now every new launch, every pricing change, every CX initiative generates its own campaign on top of stale audiences, and nobody steps back to ask whether those audiences still reflect reality.
