It’s basically a “paper patient twin.”

For an experienced staff, it would take roughly ~90 minutes of documentation on paper.

Or as part of traditional EHR workflows, around ~35–45 minutes and 600–800 clicks!

Or about 15 minutes and 20-40 clicks using an AI scribe.

Just my subjective estimations.

That means AI could reduce documentation time by roughly 70% compared to paper, and reduce click burden by around 95% compared to conventional EHR systems. Significantly lowering cognitive load and fragmentation would be the added bonus.

What is "digital blood testing"?

The idea is that using wearable patches makes it possible to measure medication levels in blood without taking blood samples.

"In a pilot trial – the findings of which have been published in Nature Biotechnology – the patch was used to monitor levels of vancomycin, a last-resort antibiotic that was said to have always been tricky to dose.
 
The patch, which is reportedly more comfortable than standard blood draws, uses synthetic DNA-based sensors, called aptamers, to measure dosage levels."

But it triggered a bigger question: What happens when powerful medical technologies become too accessible?

When technology becomes:
• smaller
• cheaper
• easier to use
• directly accessible to patients

Then it changes human behavior.

With handheld imaging devices, the risk is overuse, unnecessary scans, and people underestimating radiation exposure because the device "looks harmless".

We’ve already seen similar behavioral shifts with:
• Continuous glucose monitors used without medical indication
• Direct-to-consumer genetic tests interpreted without context
• Full-body MRI scans marketed as preventive screening
• Health wearables creating anxiety from perfectly normal data

The Clinical Center of Excellence of Baylor Black Sea Foundation

As executive director of the Baylor-Black Sea Foundation, I work with my team in developing and implementing programs at the Clinical Center of Excellence. I have joined the Baylor program in 1999, as a health psychologist.

Baylor Program offers a unique model of medical care, psychological and social care for HIV+ patients, including long-term survivors who have become young adults. The clinic has developed into incorporating hepatitis B and C prevention, testing and support services, tuberculosis programs and care for other chronic and infectious conditions.

Executive Director

I design and lead health programs that support people living with infectious and chronic diseases in taking control of their health journeys through trust, knowledge, and agency. My focus is on integrating behavioral science with system-level change to create resilient models of care, especially in underserved and vulnerable communities.

As Executive Director of the Baylor Black Sea Foundation, I manage a high-performing nonprofit that serves thousands of patients and trains hundreds of professionals. I work at the intersection of strategic leadership, public health, and patient empowerment, with a strong focus on sustainability and relevance in local contexts.

I bring over two decades of experience in designing evidence-based programs for HIV, hepatitis, cancer screening, and chronic illness management. Using frameworks like Intervention Mapping and COM-B, I ensure that each intervention is grounded in behavioral insight and responsive to real-world challenges.

In the field of Health Psychology and behavior Change, I co-authored two handbooks and dozens of peer-reviewed papers. I also train clinicians in patient adherence support and motivational communication, helping them bridge the gap between medical advice and real-life application.

As a health communicator and public speaker, I’ve represented my organization at conferences across Europe, presented research at global forums, and contributed to health policy conversations that shape stigma reduction, self-care, and equitable access.

I also consult on Patient Education and communication, developing and adapting culturally appropriate materials, patient journey maps, and digital content that guides users through complex health decisions with clarity and empathy.

Finally, I facilitate leadership workshops for women in health, inspired by my training with Harvard, Erasmus, and WE Health. These sessions focus on negotiation, strategic visibility, and redefining influence in professional spaces.

I believe that healthcare's lasting impact comes from system transformation and individual empowerment. I value clarity, empathy, and action, and apply these in every collaboration I pursue.
