Self Employed

Most recently I was contracted to support leadership in a Nursing Home in Edina MN. The facility needed to figure out what was holding themselves back from being successful. That’s where I came in. One of the first things I did, was focused on the culture of the building. I worked on customer service, and retaining staff. I also helped in advancing census growth by marketing the success stories, and positive outcomes from current residents and family members. We often used a SWOT Analysis, to strategize and plan what we needed to focus on. This was a great tool that really helped us with building our census. 

Before Edina,I was contracted to run operations for a facility in Nashville TN that was being purchased by the Opal SL, and the objective was to run the on-boarding processing for the new ownership. 

I quickly realized that we needed to clean the house and start all over again with new management in the facility. The staff were not getting the proper support and the facility was not being run properly. I hired a new executive manager, marketing manager, director of nursing, activities director,chef, and a maintenance director. The team I put together was really successful as they doubled the census in the first two months, and changed the culture in the building. I came up with some great ideas for marketing the building like, Free turkey for Thanksgiving with a qualifying tour. Free lunch at local restaurant with a qualified tour. First month rent is free.  Concerts for the outside community. Radio ads, Billboards.
