As a Student Assistant with the Michigan Public Service Commission, my primary responsibility was intake of customer calls, inquiries and complaints. Using Goldmine data input software, I created and updated customer records and notified appropriate divisions. This job required an excellent command of communication and interpersonal skills, as I often dealt with agitated or upset callers. The latter were not a problem for me, as I was usually able to resolve problems in short-order, yielding positive results for all parties involved. 
During my time at the MPSC, I achieved a High Performance rating within the first year, and maintained my rating for all subsequent reviews. Though only a Student Assistant, I was frequently selected to educate or train superiors and new hires in call-center operations.
